Gabriel Knight 2 with the GK2 installer

Hi all,
I've used the GK2 installer to put GK2 on a DVD and install it to my harddrive from there.
This works fine, but when I play the game I do experience some (pretty) serious problems with the full motion video.
Each time the camera changes from character to character during conversations the change is not as fluid as I remember from this game.
It feels out of synch....the camera switches faster than I would expect...ie camera switches already when one character is still uttering the last word of the sentence.
Also there seems to be a short flash during this camera change that becomes quite annoying. I remember that the camera switch used to be fully fluid. (as with any normal movie)
I'm pretty sure this should not be like that and I've played this game many many times before in normal windows mode.
Anyone else experiences this?
Is it some kind of setting that I can/should tweak to correct this?
btw: I'm using the subtitle patch aswel (don't know if it relates to this)
Thanks for helping out
