Hi,
I've been using DOSBox with Munt for all of my Sierra games whenever possible. It works very well, except for the VGA version of PQ1. During the title screen (~20 seconds in) one of the "instruments" sounds like a buzzing noise that quickly overwhelms the music and becomes very annoying. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with this and if there was a way to fix this. As I said before, this is the only game that gives me trouble. Thanks.

Munt is by no means perfect, yet. It is only in alpha stage. You might try posting in the Munt development forum:

Kingguppy might like to knowing of this bug.

Thanks, I'll do that. Although, hasn't it been a while since Munt has been updated?

I don't believe that lately there has been much publicly, but Kingguppy seems to still be working on it.

Theres a VGA for PQ1? Sorry im having a brain fart but does that mean the game is point and click now rather than EGA. Or do i have my facts messed up. For some reason right this very moment im thinking VGA means point and clickable, and EGA means typing in commands. Or is EGA and VGA just have to do with graphics and the only version of PQ1 is text based commands? I would love to play a point and click version of police quest 1.

Yup, there's a VGA version. Been out for awhile. Sierra did their thing where they remade all of the "1st" games from EGA to VGA - which includes Police Quest 1, Leisuire Suit Larry 1, Space Quest 1, King's Quest 1.
Might I suggest checking out
this thread.
It's cheap. And it's a great way to show support for those old school games!

Crap Tawmis i actually had the Police Quest Collection but never got around to opening it and replaying the games. When i actually did i brought it down to school to play but got sidetracked, and then i think it got lost in the move cause i havent seen it since. A crucial loss. Theres a chance its out in my garage at my parents house with my college stuff, now i got motivation to get out there and sort thru the 5 years worth of stuff and 5 years of living in 5 different places and 5 different series of trash bags (what i used to just throw all my random stuff in making it easier to move, by no means trash).

Like I said, they re-released the games on CD/DVD... And I'd highly recommend getting it because it comes with DOSBox configured for play (but then Collector has some cool tweaks to make it work with the newest DOSBox)...
