I have yet to play King's Quest 7. The graphics are simply not my cup of tea. (Of course not, they're graphics).

Are you not a fan of Disney animation style?

Yikes. What is so bad about that film? Sorry, I'm confused.

It's considered super racist because of the stereotypes portrayed from what I remember.

There's a few of these, including animated ones, that Disney has locked away.

I'm sorry; I had no idea. I googled it and found out why.

So let's get back to KQ. I'd like to say I appreciate KQ6, for various reasons:

- I thought it was a more complicated (and slightly more "grown-up"?) story - especially more than, say, KQ1 or KQ2;
- It had all the usual fantasy tropes (e.g. fantastical creatures, mazes), and the many usual Sierra "Have A Nice Death";
- But when you first enter the town, you encounter distrust and even hostility (something which, I think, the Coles "borrowed" for Quest for Glory 4 - KQ6 came out in 1992, and QfG4 in 1993 );
- There is also a general atmosphere of dread, especially in the Maze, and later, when Alexander enters the palace and has to hide from guards etc.

So, all in all, it's a very satisfying adventure to finish.

Then again, I also found KQ4 quite challenging, and it also has a female protagonist (which isn't common in Sierra games). KQ7 has two, of course, but other than those? Laura Bow, Grace Nakimura ... Patti (in LSL3 and LSL5) ... Can anyone recall any others?

I love GK2, because it's so massive. But Phant 1 tells a truly horrifying story.

Phant 2 is probably the least liked, and only because of the end and that whole "Dimension X" thing.

As for me ... I don't like the horror genre, so I never played either Phantasmagoria game.

However, I enjoy learning about other countries, and I enjoy listening to opera (and if I can understand it, so much the better). For those reasons, I loved GK2 -- and it also spawned my interest in Ludwig II of Bavaria, who is featured in the "Ludwig Museum" and the castle that Grace goes to.

In fact, when a friend of mine launched a Gabriel Knight 4 campaign years ago (now sadly defunct), I was asked if I wanted to help by writing a piece for it, and I jumped at the opportunity to write a short biography of Ludwig's personal life, his achievements, anecdotes about him, and his strange death.

But this isn't the place to discuss that, so if anyone is interested, feel free to PM me.

I think Phantasmagoria 2 has good character chemistry. But the twists, pacings and turns does make it hard to follow. I will say that.

But when i think about it. King's Quest 7 isnt that bad. I mean its not perfect, and the beginning part is horrible. I am not gonna lie. They shouldnt have had the player start out like that. But outside that, if one goes with Chapter 2 and so forth. Its actually a very fun looking game in my view.

But i guess compared to King's Quest 1-6. 7 is obviously probably trying to appeal to kids at the time. Interms of the colourful graphics and animation. Which i do find the best part about Kings Quest 7

I have grown to appreciate KQ7 more than when it first came out. It seemed to turn away from all that I liked about KQ6. After all, it is a Jane Jensen game, one of my favorite game designers. And at the time, I disliked the more cartoony artwork in its effort to be more Disney like. However, Neal Grandstaff's soundtrack has really grown on me and Lorelei's writing and puzzles are good. Also, the backgrounds are really enjoyable, in spite of the fact that the sprites still fail me. Sometimes I fire up chapter 3 just to enjoy the "Bountiful Woods".

Well Kings Quest 7 starts off with the most hardest puzzle in the game, then normalize it later.
It just feels like it shouldnt be the first thing to start with, but that may be just me
