Two Guys Are Back! SPACEVENTURE!

In Space No One Can Hear You Clean, er, Scream. But if you post in this forum about Space Quest - someone's sure to hear you. I think. Try it, anyway!

The other one look like it was supposed to be a reference to Space Quest. It uses the same font, but someone is blocking the title "___RICK ____STON". I'm not sure what that is supposed to be.

Pretty sure it's "Cat Force" because of the "Hello Kitty" sort of look the "O" in "Hola"... and "Cat Force" is probably a reference to "Spartan Assault" which came out in 2013 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo:_Spartan_Assault)

Spoiler - that person blocking the Space Quest font will eventually move and reveal the name, though the reference, off the top of my head, is lost to me.

"Hola Gato" = "Hello Kitty". That makes sense.

Ah. I didn't go back to check.

So I just finished. And it was... fine I guess. It does rely on nostalgia quite a bit. The sight gags are cute and you could tell that this was a labor of love, but I think there are a few places where it could use some polish. Towards the end where you on the destroyed catwalk, I really had no idea what to do. The "eye" icon was disabled. No feedback at all from anything I did. I'm not sure how I got past it. I just clicked a couple of times and... climbed an invisible ladder?

You would have clicked the hand near the bottom of M.O.M.

I went back to look at the name. Patrick Johnston. The Lead Engineer for the game.

Personally, I loved the SKWYRM and MASS DEFECT signs best, though I've been playing Bethesda games a lot, so those struck a chord with me.

Also personally, I think that MASS DEFEAT would've been quite funny, too. But of course, they could only have one, and the one they chose is funnier. :)

NBS, did you notice the names and such in Nurb's Landing (the bar)? Including Tawmis and Aimee's? :D

Those were pretty good. I also like "Hola" like I said before. I don't know if it was intentional, but mass defect is actually a thing in physics.

And yes, I saw their names.

Nice! I've not even collected all 22! :D

Isn't one of them completing the Cluck Yeggar segment?

Yes, but that one wasn't even the most annoying one. The arcade games are a pain. Especially the one in Taco Nova. Getting 50,000 points is not easy. The achievement with the lowest percentage is defeating iMom in under 3 minutes. I actually thought this one was pretty easy. The modules are always in the same place, so I just took notes to minimize the time to complete the puzzle (e.g. 1st module: Northwest, 1 turn clockwise; 2nd module: East, 2 turns counter-clockwise, etc.)

Normal resolutions might not matter. Remember, games can alter resolutions to what they need and switch back to your default when it exits. Some, even AGS games, might offer a range that can be be selected in the game's settings.
For SpaceVenture it does - for example, if your monitor is larger than 1920x1080 resolution - it does weird things with the graphics.
But ironically, I am currently testing something for them... that...

My monitor is 1920x1080 in case that matters. I misread the request and gave the refresh rate instead.
... cool, 1920x1080 is the default.

But before I mentioned, I'd be testing the np FPS cap - well, the title of this version also mentions VSYNC (I don't see a way to enable it, but it has VSYNC in there) - the removal of fps - makes them game move very smoothly...! Which is pretty nice. (Like, feels more real, smoothly is what I mean)...

I barely downloaded this test version this morning (had a D&D game to run) - so I've only just gotten inside the ship and working on vents. But it's nice(r).

So hopefully when this version is fully tested and released, it fixes whatever tearing you saw.

(Can ye tell me where you saw it? I'd like to keep an eye on it - I've, in my kajillion play throughs of this - not seen any tearing!)
The game received another patch today. VSync has been enabled and the framerate cap has been removed.

Yup, that's the build I was recently testing for Chris Pope and the Guys from Andromeda. :)
