*takes a deep breath*

All right. As a comparison to the sound of Judas Priest on the piano, I tried listening to the song "Painkiller" (i.e. the official video). Rob Halford has a, um ... unique voice, which I don't think I can describe. On the downside, the constant blinking of the video, especially in the start, gave me a headache. But that's just me.

As for the actual Judas Priest/piano video? It is fine, and since I don't know the original song, I can't say how accurate (or not?) the playing is. She's certainly proficient, no doubt about that! But I don't know what else to say, because I don't know the song.

Anyway, since we're discussing metal ... but I can't find this particular clip anywhere but Facebook (shoot me, please) ... here's a clip I think you'll enjoy. :D Bill Bailey proves why heavy metal makes any song sound better. Enjoy! :D

I love these women - who freaking rock!

I originally came across them on Youtube because they did a Motley Crue shout at the devil cover.... (I thought I had posted it here... but seem to be wrong...)

Rare is it that someone can do an Ann Wilson (Heart) song well. But this woman does a pretty amazing job. The :50 to the 1:00 minute really show she has the same control as Ann Wilson.

This is my favorite non-heart version. Taylor Hawkins was a beast in it.

You're watching Trans-Siberian Orchestra's official lyric video for "The Dark" from their album 'Beethoven's Last Night'. Check out the album on new 2xLP formats including Red Colored Vinyl and a Lenticular Cover Edition, out September 12, 2025. Pre-order here: https://tsiberian.lnk.to/bln.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra's 2000 rock theater opera, "Beethoven's Last Night," dramatically reimagines Ludwig van Beethoven's final hours as the devil attempts to claim his soul, only to be thwarted by Fate and her son Twist. Through TSO's signature classical crossover rock, featuring nods to Beethoven's melodies, the album unfolds a powerful narrative of redemption. This unique concept album delivers soaring vocals and instrumentals, showcasing a captivating blend of rock and classical music.

This kid... is... freaking... remarkable. This popped up on Youtube for me... and he's playing Steve Vai (one of the greatest living "rock" guitarists)...

Which then led to this... which is Eddie Van Halen stuff... and holy crap... the drummer in this is also freaking remarkable...

I can't understand the words she's singing (other than the first verse). Yes, I know this is the song the dwarves sing in The Hobbit ... and probably the first song in the book, and all. But her enunciation is not ideal.

This video would be miles better if it had lyrics.

I have never played a Spyro game, nor even paid much attention to the series, but following Stewart Copeland I stumbled across this little tidbit. he has been writing the soundtrack in several of these games.

Her instrument is a tad louder than her voice, so I can see what you're saying.
Could be I just know the song, so my brain is filling in the words as she sings it.
