Oh, I just realized what you may not know...

Holding your bow string long will hit harder.

But Lara can only hold it for so long before it starts to shake and she releases it.

So - while on the bridge - pull the bow string all the way and hold it as soon as you see a wolf coming.

But if ye need it my save game just past the wolves at the next campfire next to Mr. It's All Clear is in the previous post: viewtopic.php?p=105351#p105351

Thanks so much for your help ... but I can't find where these savegames need to go. :(

I don't have OneDrive set up. As far as I can tell, the game is installed in a folder called D:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Tomb Raider - however, there are no *.dat files there, except for a file called "unins000.dat" (which is about 1.3 Mb, so much bigger than the savegames you uploaded ... and it's also, probably, for uninstalling the game). :)

I also looked on my two local drives (both C and D), under C:\Users\[My User Name\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications and D:\Users\[My User Name\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications ... but couldn't proceed after that.

I googled where to find "savegames Tomb Raider Game of the Year Edition GOG" etc., but all the results I found where either for this game on Steam, or for the earlier Tomb Raider games.

Any idea where I should look, please? :)

I don't use GoG Galaxy - so needed to google... found this thread:

https://www.gog.com/forum/shing/where_i ... save_files

C:\Users\"Your_Username"\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications\53835151161532868\Storage\Shared\Files

C:\Users\"Your_Username"\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications

The #s in bold, from what I read is randomly generated - so no idea what the actual # for TR is...

Then from whatever # TR is - into \Storage\Shared\Files

Yes, I found this too ... but that's for a game called Shing. :|

What do you mean by "TR"? How can I find it? Sorry, I'm confused.

TR = Tomb Raider.

So yes, that's for a specific game - but that's why I said go to -
C:\Users\"Your_Username"\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications

Are there randomly numbered folders in there?

If so one of them is probably Tomb Raider.

If so, go into that one - and go to: \Storage\Shared\Files

And that's where it should be according to what I've seen.

Also ye could search your whole HD (start from C:\ in Windows Explorer, search for hidden files too, because no idea where Gog Galaxy stores crap...)

And search for:

lastcamp.dat

I can't imagine you have too many file names called that. Should be unique to TR I imagine.

Hmm. Well, I searched C:\Users\"My_Username"\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications (and the same on my D drive) for lastcamp.dat ... no results. So, I tried searching for *.dat ... still nothing.

Well, I searched the entirety of the C and D drives for lastcamp.dat. (If I tried *.dat, I'm sure it'd find loads)... :P

... and finally found it! It was in C:\Users\"My UserName"\Documents\My Games\Tomb Raider. Sigh. It's simple when you know the secret. ;) I'll copy the files and try again. Thanks! :)

Thanks again, Tawm! I tried again, and finally moved on, past those absurdly overpowered wolves ... or so I thought. :( After speaking to the guy, I tried moving off the screen to try and find something to upgrade my axe with, and immediately ran into those wolves again! I ran off, and they left me alone. So I went in another direction, and there those wolves were again, and killed me again. :( :x

Aggggggggghhhh! I! HATE! FREAKING! WOLVES! Aaaghhhhh! *breaks his keyboard* ;)

The most ridiculous thing is, wolves in real life aren't monsters. I'm sick and tired of wolves acting like monsters, not just in games but in films, TV, and books.

Almost every RPG you might care to name does this. Neverwinter Nights, Elder Scrolls, Heroes of Might and Magic, Lara Croft. :(

Wolves in the wild are beautiful, social creatures, and they don't generally attack humans unless they're starving or desperate. Even if humans fire at wolves first, the wolves will try to flee. Leave the poor creatures alone, for Christ's sake! :x

Yet the moment a game pits "human against the wild", wolves get the short stick and become furry, toothsome, ravening, nightmarish monstrosities. Gee ... I think SOMEONE is either projecting their own prejudices, or else forcing these things to do what humans do (i.e. being jerks to other humans). Sigh.

Can't we ... I don't know -- can't we have a game where you can simply observe these wolves from a distance? Maybe even -- I dunno -- befriend them (e.g. leave them some meat as a peace offering)? I mean, is that such a ridiculous thing to wish for?

Sorry. I'm just sick to death of this. Thanks for reading. :)

Well the good thing is, I assume ye went to the campfire next to Mr. "It's All Clear" which would save your game there automatically.

The other good news, you will eventually get (several) types of guns that will greatly help with dealing with things...

On this we agree. Even Tolkien made wolves evil (not just the Wargs).

In my Lord of the Rings 5e game I am running, there's an "awakened" wolf capable of speech (the Company hasn't run into him yet) - but they saw Wolves aid them when Archet was attacked.

The awakened wolf will reveal that Wargs are made through dark magic by corrupting wolves and that wolves by nature are not evil.

Just me injecting my own lore. Because of my love of wolves.

Yes, I'm there. But I need to upgrade my axe (about freakin' time!), and I'm not sure where to go to find what I need. But regardless of where I go, those freakin' wolf monstrosities kill me, and I'm sick and tired of them.

I mean, really? Wolf monsters that follow you around and kill you no matter where you go?

That's fair enough, if you consider Tolkien's background: he was a professor of Anglo-Saxon and Norse history and mythology. In Norse mythology, a gigantic wolf (Fenrir) will, when Ragnarok breaks out, eat the sun. ;) It's also one of the children of Loki, so I'm not surprised that Tolkien fell for the "wolf = evil" thing.

Both Wargs and Fenrir appear in Heroine's Quest, by the way (but the wargs, or vargs as they are more correctly spelled, are fairly easy to kill. I wish Lara had a sword and shield). ;)

So ... there are three paths leading away from the temple (?), where I can find something to upgrade my axe. But no matter which way I go, there are wolves everywhere ... ... and they STILL always catch and kill me. :(

What is going on here? Is there a Wolf Convention or something - "Let's Catch and Kill Lara Croft"? :P

I can avoid them by running back to the temple and jumping into one of those little enclosures on either side of the door. But once I do, they back off, so they can ambush me again whenever I venture out ... and even if I put one tiny tip-toe outside the temple grounds.

Sorry, I give up. Those wolf things are faster and stronger than me, and scary as hell. :(

 Try to lure them to places where they can't come at your at every side (sort of like backing up on the bridge). Look for ledges you can possibly jump on to get out of their reach and pluck them from there. And don't forget - a long aim hits harder.

Arrr! So I FINALLY DEFEATED THE WOLVES!!! :D And not only that, but defeated 4 of them at the same time!!! :D Go me!

........ aaaaaand now I'm a prisoner of some Russian dudes who tied my hands, stole my bow, and are looking to kill me. No fair. :( I tried sneaking around then, but there are way too many of them, and I get killed again and again and again, with no way to defend myself.

What am I supposed to do? Spoilers welcome. :)
