Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
Okay, so I played Return to Ostagar on my X360. And it was easy enough to purchase, load and play.
However, I am having a nightmare of a time trying to get it for my PC. I purchased 400 Bioware points. Then when I try to go and buy Return to Ostagar - it puts me back through the thing to buy points. But it says my current balance is 400. It only costs 400 points to buy. So why does it loop me into wanting to buy more points?

Which I dislike, because right on the RTO page it says:AndreaDraco wrote: Anyway, I really liked Return to Ostagar. It surely puts things into perspective. I mean,
Before Return to Ostagar, I thought that Loghain was being delusional and paranoid about his fears on Cailan and Orlais. But it turns out that Cailan was indeed in secret talks with Empress Celene, perhaps even in a secret affair with her. Surely, this doesn't change how I see Loghain - basically, a nutcase and a delusional traitor -, but at least now he seems to me less paranoid than before. I mean, he was basically right![]()
Whatever the reasons, Cailan and the Grey Wardens stood for Ferelden against the darkspawn. It should have been a decisive victory, but they were abandoned to face the horde alone.
But...
Within the first guy you meet, he gives you the impression that the Grey Warden were going to lose no matter what, because there were too many darkspawn.
So which is it?

Well, the guy deserted out of cowardice, so he's probably not the best source for reliable information, no?

And you will be happy to know 'Draco, that for the PC version with my Dalish Rogue I definitely plan on befriending Zeveran (so what happened before doesn't happen again) - since they're both Rogues and all. Of course he's going to have a soft spot for ol' Zev.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
Happy to hear that
About your previous issue, there is an ongoing discussion on the subject over at the official forum, and David Gaider himself cared to explain something.
Up until the last moment, Loghain wasn't sure to betray the King and flee Ostagar. His (and Howe's) plan was to isolate the King by cutting off his political alliances - like Arl Eamon (poisoned) and Bryce Cousland (who, however, was only to be retarded. Killing him was entirely Howe's plan) - and thus making him more manipulable: Loghain was fearing Orlais could use Cailan to invade Ferelden once again, but Loghain hadn't planned to murder the King. However, when the King was adamantine about riding into battle with the Gray Wardens, Loghain made arrangemente with Uldred about the beacon in the Tower of Ishal, so that, if it came to that, he may have an excuse - the beacon not being lit - to leave the King to die, and preserve the majority of the army both to reinforce the borders against Orlais and to defeat the darkspawn.

Another video for another character ...

Oh. Gee. ANOTHER mage. How great.
And she looks JUST LIKE MORRIGAN.
But with blond hair.
Kind of disappointing.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
I wouldn't say just like Morrigan. At first glance perhaps, but on closer inspection her face is quite different and the hair is slightly different. With 3 classes to be had and two of them already used as romances in the main campaign, there were really only so many options. Plus, her magic seems to be different. I think it looks pretty cool actually.Tawmis wrote:Another video for another character ...

A question about the order of quests/storyline:
I still have some open quests in Denerim. If I complete the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest and go to Denerim with the Arl of Redcliffe for the Landsmeet, will I still be able to finish any open quests I have in Denerim? Or should I go up there and complete them before I go back to him?

Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
I believe her hair is exactly like Moriggan's - just colored blond. And granted, she's different with her magic - controlling trees - she appears more druid like. But then Moriggan had some druid aspects with shape shifting into various animals.Maiandra wrote:I wouldn't say just like Morrigan. I was hoping for something OTHER than a mage, because the first new reveal was already a Mage.
As for the question about your quest...
I'd go back first, to be safe. But if memory serves me right, you're able to access all the areas of Denerim when you go there for the Land's Meet - which means, everyone you need SHOULD still be there. As long as you don't complete the Land's Meet and move THAT segment forward.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
Yes, Maia. Tawmis is right.
You can complete every open quest during the Landsmeet, except for one quest for the Antivan Crows, which must be completed before the Landsmeet began. If you don't have this quest (the first of the Trials), since it's completely optional, you'll be fine.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
Thanks for the input on the order of quests, guys.
So here's a question for everyone that has played or partly played the main campaign:
What new types of party member would you like to see? What qualities would you like them to have (personality or abilities)? Was there any specific things you hope they don't include?
I would like to continue on with my Mabari and have him "comment" on more things. I liked how he seemed to respond to some of the conversations in Warden's Keep.
I can understand that. Hopefully some of the remaining party members will be significantly different from those in the first campaign. Or perhaps her likeness to Morrigan will just be superficial and her personality or backstory may be different enough that she won't seem so similar once you get to know her.Tawmis wrote: I believe her hair is exactly like Morrigan's - just colored blond. Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
I'd like to see a strong-willed, confident woman without a bitchy attitude (Morrigan, I'm sadly looking at you, but hardened Leliana is not that much better), someone like Grace, for example, and perhaps a character utterly and completely greedy or downright evil, because I really think that this could add a lot of souce to party interactions. Oh, and I'd love to have more flamboyant characters à la Zevran or Shale, who are undoubtedly my two favorites
Especially because, right under their flamboyant, excessive exterior, they both have a real depth to them, particularly Zev.
Aside from the characters, I'd like to see more nighttime settings, perhaps with an horror or mysterious twist to them, and some investigative quests like the ones in KotOR (on Dantooine, where you had to figure out the culprit of a crime interrogating the suspects, etc; on Manaan, where there was even a full-fledged trial).
And of course I'd like to know more about the background of Thedas, and certainly explore some place outside Ferelden, but this will have to wait till DA2 I think.
