Re: Three Clues - Who Am I?
Moved by your hand
I am grains of sand
I am only seen, when something's done
There, in the sky, under the sun
You can see me in the air
But I am not really there.
You will never see me at night
I am not even required, to help you in your plight.
I'm not sure if this fits all of the clues but...
Are you the hourglass the cursor turns into?
"Moved by your hand" using the mouse
"Grains of sand" of the hourglass
"Only seen, when something's done" changes from the action cursor when the player does something
I am grains of sand

There, in the sky, under the sun

Moved by your hand <-- two fold, a hand flips an hour glass, but more so - you need to do physical labor to see it
I am grains of sand <-- This I thought was the dead give away.
I am only seen, when something's done <-- don't appear until you start raking/sweeping/cleaning/whatever that is you're doing in the stables.
There, in the sky, under the sun <-- seen floating in the sky
You can see me in the air <-- in the air
But I am not really there. <-- Indicating YOU the player see it, but the character does not
You will never see me at night <-- stables are closed at night and work can't be done so the hourglass can't be triggered
I am not even required, to help you in your plight. <-- You technically do not need to "clean" the stables to finish your quest.

Re: Three Clues - Who Am I?
This isn't really fair.
The cursor turns into an hour-glass in Quest for Glory 2 and 3 as well, so it's not something unique to QfG1.
"Grains of sand" isn't a dead give-away, since there is sand in the forest too (e.g. by the lake).
It appears whenever something happens that the player can't control (e.g. you're about to dance for the fairies, or start of combat, or the character does something - anything - like drink a beer, or climb a mountain, or talk to Erasmus).
Also, it doesn't just appear in the air, or in the sky. It also appears on the ground, or in a tree. It just depends where you move the cursor.
And yes, you do see it at night - especially if you're a thief and you're out at night, breaking into houses and stealing people's stuff.
This really isn't fair
to say the cursor isn't there
if you are out at night!
Dance to fairies' delight
and cursor's a hour-glass
reflecting on your ... grass ...
the grass stain on your shirt;
oh my! Have you been hurt?
A monster coming by?
And now it fights - oh, fie!
The hourglass is back
'cos of monster's attack!

It's the hour glass that appears when you're sweeping the stable inside the keep.
NOT the cursor hour glass.

Oh! *blush* I'm so sorry. I saw NBS's guess (as below) ...

... and I thought it meant the cursor hourglass. Maybe I read it wrong? Never mind. It's NBS's turn.notbobsmith wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 9:21 pm Are you the hourglass the cursor turns into?

Re: Three Clues - Who Am I?
Ah, I can see how you'd think that. But during this time, the physical "arrow" cursor DOES disappear and technically become the HOUR GLASS.
As seen in this great video:
Otherwise the answers to the old forest and such, would not have made sense if it was just the "wait" cursor.

Re: Three Clues - Who Am I?
So I wasn't quite right. I forgot about the hourglass there.
Anyway, my turn:
To get to your goal
You use the lucky number
Else it is your doom

So Rath was right? You meant the "cursor" turning into a "wait cursor"...?
Man.
All right. Well, you were right. Was an hour glass.
Anyway - yours was...
Are you the Lotto Ticket from LS2?notbobsmith wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 11:26 pm To get to your goal

That somehow seems too obvious...
Lotto ticket is needed to get out of LA...
Lucky number - people pick Lucky numbers and I think the Lotto ticket is called "Lucky Lotto" in LSL2 (or something similar)
And doomed, because if the ship leaves, end of game.

Re: Three Clues - Who Am I?
I knew it was an hourglass, but the only one I could think of was the cursor. I thought the hourglass cursor didn't quite fit, but gave it a try.Tawmis wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 11:30 pmhahahahahahah!notbobsmith wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 11:26 pm So I wasn't quite right. Re: Three Clues - Who Am I?
Is the game with the word "Quest" in it a stand alone "Quest" word (Space QUEST, King's QUEST, rather than EcoQuest, ConQuest, etc)?
