Two Guys Are Back! SPACEVENTURE!

In Space No One Can Hear You Clean, er, Scream. But if you post in this forum about Space Quest - someone's sure to hear you. I think. Try it, anyway!

This was the ONLY thing I did not test. I left that to the others. Not a fan of the Five Nights of Freddy which it's based off of.
I've never actually played that game. I'm familiar with it and more or less familiar with the premise (trapped in a Chuck E. Cheese type place where the animatronics come to life), but I didn't know that this was how the gameplay worked.
Like you, never played it. Only familiar with it because "Five Nights of Freddy" was very popular (not to me, but I heard a lot of people talk about it and how it worked) - which held no interest for me. Which is how the Cluck Yeggar segment works too. It was designed to mimic that. And I just did not care for it, so I had always skipped it, even during testing. Told Chris (Pope) as much. And he said it was fine, others were testing it. lol

Just got back from the bar. I saw your name! Space Quest Historian was also there.
Playing through now and hit a soft lock that Pope is asking me to try and replicate - but here...

I definitely would not have notice that if you hadn't pointed it out. It is a great joke, though.

Is there a way to figure out which dome is theirs? There's an option to skip, but if there's a way to find theirs, I'd prefer to do it that way. They all look the same and I couldn't find any clues to which one it is supposed to be.
Here - filmed it today!

I feel so accomplished. Did the wolf thing for Rath and now this!

Thanks for posting this. I tried it myself and yes, the dome with the flamingo cloud is right there. I'm not sure how I kept missing it. Or why I was able to see it after leaving and then returning.

Glad it's not bugged. Happened to have another "very random almost impossible" to trigger bug however, by playing this to get to this point and show you this. So that was good. I did it once and couldn't replicate but Pope said someone else reported the same issue.

So he found a way to basically make sure Ace doesn't lock up.

I'll also be doing more testing (they're doing some under the hood changes, like removing the 30fps limit and other stuff). So I am eager to do more testing! :)

On the subject of fps, one thing that would be nice would be to have an option to turn on Vsync in-game. I noticed some tearing and I had to enable Vsync manually in NVidia Control Panel to fix it.

I can bring that up to Pope and see if that's possible to enable/disable within the game.

When you see the tearing - what resolution are you playing at (what's your monitor resolution)?

Normal resolutions might not matter. Remember, games can alter resolutions to what they need and switch back to your default when it exits. Some, even AGS games, might offer a range that can be be selected in the game's settings.

My monitor is 1920x1080 in case that matters. I misread the request and gave the refresh rate instead.

For SpaceVenture it does - for example, if your monitor is larger than 1920x1080 resolution - it does weird things with the graphics.
But ironically, I am currently testing something for them... that...

... cool, 1920x1080 is the default.

But before I mentioned, I'd be testing the np FPS cap - well, the title of this version also mentions VSYNC (I don't see a way to enable it, but it has VSYNC in there) - the removal of fps - makes them game move very smoothly...! Which is pretty nice. (Like, feels more real, smoothly is what I mean)...

I barely downloaded this test version this morning (had a D&D game to run) - so I've only just gotten inside the ship and working on vents. But it's nice(r).

So hopefully when this version is fully tested and released, it fixes whatever tearing you saw.

(Can ye tell me where you saw it? I'd like to keep an eye on it - I've, in my kajillion play throughs of this - not seen any tearing!)

The first place that I noticed it was in the beginning. There's a long hallway with pipes. The hallway is long enough to "move" as you move which I think is what made the tearing noticeable. After that, I forced Vsync manually.

I would imagine that refresh rate would be a factor in tearing.

At Andromecon now. Lots of fun sight gags with game titles. I liked how "Halo" became "Hola". I'm not sure if I understood the joke with the rest of the title: "Gato Fuerza". "Hello Cat Force"?

The other one look like it was supposed to be a reference to Space Quest. It uses the same font, but someone is blocking the title "___RICK ____STON". I'm not sure what that is supposed to be.
