There is not 3 or more to the series in which I am found.

And... just because...

I run down your spine
I've asked you to get out
If you're caught here and look at me, you might get a fine
There's something sinister here, of that there's no doubt.
I am not the rats found in Laura Bow Two
But like the Dagger of Amon Ra, she might come here too
She'd be cautious and look at it piece by piece, frame by frame
But she's not in this game.
Careful, it might be something you have Missed
Trying to figure out what to do might make you pissed.
Logic here is not only desired
It's simply required.
Replace me, once you gaze upon me
I am here, apparently, just for you to see.
Much like Laura Bow in her second game
There are a few things that are the same
You will find Egyptian Hieroglyphs
Beware, or you might be scared stiff.

Yes, I am! The first line was a reference to that.

I run down your spine.

Shivers can run down a person's spine. :)

The bit about where I said, "Careful, something might have been MISSED"

Was a reference to say the game I am in his like Myst.

And thus the "piece by piece, FRAME BY FRAME" because Shivers, like Myst, moves in frames.

Now with Shivers confirmed, you might be able to now rapidly narrow down some things, based on the other clues I provided.

I know nothing about Shivers, or Myst, or anything else here. I give up.

The question of is it in Shivers 1 or Shivers 2
Should be easy to determine
If you just look at the clues
And who knows, you might win.

And to lend additional help....

I run down your spine
I've asked you to get out

-- These two lines were a clue as to what game I am in. Shivers. Now is it in 1 or 2?

If you're caught here and look at me, you might get a fine
-- This is a clue as to what I actually am in the game.

There's something sinister here, of that there's no doubt.
-- This is a clue to the fact I am in one of the Shivers games.

I am not the rats found in Laura Bow Two
But like the Dagger of Amon Ra, she might come here too

-- This is a clue as to WHICH Shivers game I am in.

She'd be cautious and look at it piece by piece, frame by frame
But she's not in this game.
Careful, it might be something you have Missed
Trying to figure out what to do might make you pissed.

-- All clues to hint at it's a Shivers game.

Logic here is not only desired
It's simply required.

-- Hints to allude it's like Myst where some wild puzzles are found.

Replace me, once you gaze upon me
I am here, apparently, just for you to see.

-- Another clue as to what I am.

Much like Laura Bow in her second game
There are a few things that are the same
You will find Egyptian Hieroglyphs

-- Clue as to which Shivers game I am in.

Beware, or you might be scared stiff.
You won't find me in Gabriel Knight
However, you will find me during the night.

-- A clue as to which Shivers game I am in. (Takes place at night only... and it's very obvious why it's night only)

I knew this would allude you
But you can look at SierraChest
And read my clue
And you may be able to put this to rest.
The question of is it in Shivers 1 or Shivers 2
Should be easy to determine
If you just look at the clues
And who knows, you might win.

-- Me, just saying at least narrowing it down to which Shivers game I am in is pretty easy.

On the floor is where you discard me
Perhaps some of these clues, the answer you will glean?

I am reasonably certain that you are in the first Shivers game. The second just has the Native American theme. The museum has artifacts from all over, including Egypt.

Not an inventory item and left on the floor... In the game you have to capture spirits in these jars. You have to collect two pieces. Are you one of the jar or a piece of one of the jars?

I will confess I am in the first one, just to help out tracking down what I am.

I've asked you to get out
- During the intro a spiritual voice shouts, "Get out" and they shake it off as being "the wind"

I am not the rats found in Laura Bow Two
But like the Dagger of Amon Ra, she might come here too

- As you said, second one is Native American and a small town. The first one is a Museum. And thus the "Laura Bow might come here too" (and come here "too" was also to read "come here two" - as in Laura Bow Two is in a museum) - since Dagger of Amon Ra takes place in a Museum.

Much like Laura Bow in her second game
There are a few things that are the same
You will find Egyptian Hieroglyphs

- As you mentioned, first one has this stuff in it. Using Laura Bow 2 as a clue to that.

You won't find me in Gabriel Knight
However, you will find me during the night.

- The concept of the first one is staying the night in the muesum.

So all of that said, I am not related to the jars.

And so....

You wondered if I was one of the jars
But you will find me before
Than where you are
Even before you go within the front door.

Are you the letter in the beginning?

You pick it up to read it, but it doesn't become an inventory item. It just stays there on the ground.

You are correct!

If you're caught here and look at me, you might get a fine
-- I didn't want to be too obvious with the first clue, but the fine, is actual more along the lines of a Federal Law (in the United States anyway) for looking at someone else's mail.
Opening or destroying mail that is addressed to someone else is a crime called "Obstruction of Correspondence." It is a serious felony that could lead to prison time. It is remarkably easy to find yourself charged with this crime, even if you didn’t mean to do anything wrong.

Start with the basics!

Are you in a game with the word 'Quest' anywhere in the title (King's Quest, ConQuest, EcoQuest, BeQuest, etc)
