Hey, I was here first! - This can be taken two ways: it is in the first game of the first "Quest" game: KQ1. Also the banner is replaced in KQ2 with the Magic Mirror.
But they had to replace me. - Again, replaced with the mirror.
Sierra Leone? - It looks like the flag of Sierra Leone which also happens to have "Sierra" in its name. Coincidence? The flag was adopted in 1961, so it would have been in use when the game was released.

Those do look like pews. And they're not even facing the throne.
