I never really understood the joke behind Kielbasa's name. So he's named after a sausage. It doesn't seem to be a reference to anything or connect to anything else.

*looks up Kielbasa* Hmm. Well, it's traditionally made from ground pork, only lightly smoked at best. It has a coarse texture and heady garlic flavour.

I agree, I have no idea what it has to do with anything else. Unless Kielbasa (the character) is peppery -- i.e. short-tempered.
