Gabriel Knight 3 - The Episodes

Hi everyone, I used to post on the GK4 campaign forum but as most of you know the forum has been down for a few months now. I hunted around for other active Gabriel Knight forums and that's how I ended up here.

I am posting about my project where I made Gabriel Knight 3 into firstly a movie and then, more recently, into episodes. I done this by filming the game with Camtasia and joining all the files together.

I converted the Gabriel Knight 3 movie into episodes (10 in total) and uploaded the new DVD files so that they can be burnt to a standard 4.7GB DVD. The episodes are around 25-35 minutes in length except for the 1st episode which is considerably shorter (it was hard to make them all of similar length due to the natural stages where the episodes should end).

As far as I am concerned Gabriel Knight 3 - The Episodes is the only version you should consider downloading, although the original versions of Gabriel Knight - The Movie (DVD and Windows Media Player playlist) are still available to download should you so wish. I uploaded the original movie version to YouTube but can not justify uploading the episodes to YouTube as the film version is similar enough to give you an idea as to if you want to download it or not. A preview of the episodes version can be viewed on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1cxMQ4fG1U

Here is a brief change log explaining the main changes I made between the movie and episodes:

* Added Sierra logo clip before DVD menu appears. I am very pleased about this, it gives a professional touch to the DVD. I had to add it as a movie on the main menu for this to work, see if you can get it to play!
* Around 5 minutes of un-necessary/irrelevant scenes have been deleted and a few other scenes shortened (over 3 minutes of these files were from the Gabriel "snooping" scenes which are now a little less boring overall)
* Tweaked the order of some scenes (but not drastically) to enhance dramatic effect where needed
* Unfortunately there are about 5 "pop" sounds amongst the DVD that i could not get rid of, I hope they do not detract from the overall enjoyment of the episodes
* Total length of all 10 episodes put together (without the intro or credit sequences) is 4 hours 20 minutes 26 seconds which is a fair improvement to my original film (over 5 minutes of footage removed as explained above)

Here is the link to the downloads, simply click a folder name and download the files within:

Not bad thanks BBP, you used to post quite regularly on the GK4 campaign forum IIRC?

I've been fascinated with the idea of editing adventures game into movies for quite a while. Nice to know someone else is already giving it a go. I'll have to check this out (although four hours might be long even by movie standards.)

Very cool. I have been wanting to do something similar with TORIN'S PASSAGE, because a number of my friends have kids who I think would enjoy it.

Hello everyone - it's been a while! I just thought I'd let you know that I have recently uploaded both the DVD files and WMP playlists of Gabriel Knight 3 - The Episodes to my SkyDrive as I had many messages regarding problems downloading the files from 4shared. The link to my SkyDrive is https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=91ac5d6f2e7a62c6

Apologies for it taking me so long to have an alternative download source.

Great to see you again!
Is that a recommendable cloud? I'd enjoy Adrive if my files didn't expire all the time there...

Well it is quiet in here nowadays isn't it?! Anyway this is just a quick message - 12 years after the last post in this thread! - to let everyone know that in the summer I finally created episodes of the GK1 and GK2 games to go alongside my previous GK3 "film" on YouTube.

It had been on my agenda for a number of years but I did not mention it to anyone in case it never happened.

As I have always stated, these episodes are by no means perfect but I hope they are still somewhat enjoyable. Although the GK3 episodes were previously available to download, I have also now uploaded these to YouTube.

Find all the episodes in their relevant playlists here: https://www.youtube.com/@gabrielknighte ... /playlists
