Was bored - thought of this.


Post a screen shot (ideally, from a Sierra game, but really any adventure game is fine).

The idea is - the person who replies - comes up with how a puzzle works on that screen. (Shouldn't be the actual puzzle - come up with your own thing). And it can be silly - but should only be related to the screen. And you can say that they use XYZ (which is not on the screen but assumed to have been fictionally picked up) on ABC (which is on the screen shot). Then they'd post their own screen shot from a Sierra/Adventure game, for the next person to reply (they don't need to be connected obviously).

For example, if someone posted this screen shot:

I might reply, "Laura uses the fire hydrant to put out the fire in the furnace, where she discovers someone's charred remains!"

So that said - what is the puzzle on this screen shot?

Laura puts some sand into the furnace which melts to form a glass lens. She uses the lens on the light bulb. The focused light sets the robes of the attacking cultists on fire.

What is the puzzle in this screenshot?

Sgt. Dooley thinks that Sonny is The Gremlin, and puts him to work sweeping up all the feathers and cleaning up his desk from chicken poop. And then he leaves to file a report. But he's right outside the door.

How can Sonny leave without Dooley noticing?

And here's my screenshot -- sorry, but I don't currently have access to my Sierra games, so I'll google one ...



If the QfG hero chooses to remain in the brothel harem, what happens next? (Other than Ad Avis summoning Iblis and ending the world, of course).

The hero uses some Super-Gro(tm) plant food on the flowers in the back. The plant bursts through the ceiling allowing him to escape. But he doesn't. Because why would he?

Sonny Bonds returns to Lefty's to look for the Diamond Ring he'd gotten for Marie to discover it's gone.
However, in removing the drain in the center of the floor, he does find the Dagger of Amon Ra, and now needs to find out - who stole it.

Now for the next screen...

Whatever his name is (Adam, I guess?) is running out of air, so he resurfaces to get some more.

Heh, I think you missed it.

You're supposed to basically look at the screenshot and determine how there might be a puzzle there. So look at the items and say, "Oh, he finds XYZ here" or whatever, or "He uses XYZ to open ABC"...

Oops. Very well ... Adam (or whatever his name is) notices a piece of writing on one of the planks, and swims closer to have a better look. But whoa! His oxygen is running out. Can he memorise it and swim to the surface before he dies of asphyxiation?

And now ...

(Psst, to be clear, you don't even have to name the character as the character in the screen you called have called Adam "Davey Jones" if you wanted to)

Anyway -

Larry takes notice that the top midget is actually a mini-me of himself - and realizes Sludge Vohaul is at it again. He knows he must stop Sludge Vohaul before Leisure Suit Larry IV gets released and messes up the Space Quest IV timeline. Larry goes to the Taxi phone and calls Trinity, and is transported through the Matrix into Leisure Suit Larry IV.

Laura takes a look at the grandfather clock and notices that it's actually a hinged door to another universe! Whoops, only kidding, it's just a cupboard containing a strange white suit. When Laura puts on the suit, she's transformed into Leisure Suit Laura! This grants her the powers of Sleazy Pickup Lines +1,000, Hair Loss +5, and Charisn'tma +1,000,000.

(Charisn'tma == just like charisma, except in the opposite direction)

Anyway ...





(Oh dear ... now I have gone too far)

Larry nervously points the anti-static gun to his head to discharge it. The shock is unpleasant, but now he will be able to use it on his records again.

Sonny Bonds rocks out to "Old Time Rock 'n Roll", a la Risky Business. Then Marie comes in and catches him in the act. Then, one by one, and very silently, enter the entire staff of the Lytton Police Department.

Sonny finally turns around and realises he will never be able to live this down.

... and speaking of things that Sonny will never be able to live down...

Sonny uses the portrait of the chief to cover himself and discreetly leaves the police station.

Our Police Officer grabs the mop bucket, and pulls it into the elevator - and sends it a few floors down. The man using the mop - leaves the mop - and begins running down the stairs. Our officer grabs the mop - shoves it in his pocket - OUCH! - and carries on.

I never expected to see Willy Beamish again.

Willy jumps off the bench, slides between the nurse's legs (not a euphemism), runs out the door, and escapes the school, leaving his toad and school satchel behind.

(This is also the end of the story, since he needs his toad to play the game)
