Picked up War in the North on Steam, even though I'd beat it on X360 (quite recently, using each character as the primary character)...
And still love this game.
I freaking love this game.

...
...
...
... I hate the Barrow Wight part. Fighting those things over and over in their own cave -- it drives me crazy.
... In the forest, I also hate fighting the orcs ... but especially the spiders. Ugggh! Spiders!
By the comparison, the Spider Queen Boss thing is tame - it wouldn't be so bad fighting her, if it wasn't for all the frigging spiders.
... There's a part coming up under the mountain. I hate fighting orcs under the mountain. I hate defending the dwarves while they turn the handle on that thing. And I hate the "let's defend the door of the dwarven kingdom from the many, many orcs and trolls" etc.
There's way too much tension in this game

How did ye feel about the test area with the waves of undead and orcs ye can do?
The NPCs are not smart enough to get on the catapults....
So it has to be you, who has the best weapons, armor, healing potions... while they struggle to defend the dwarves on the ground.
It's very, very, very frustrating.
And where I currently am... tried twice and failed twice... taking a breather.....
First time I played, I felt like I was in a maze in the actual caverns of the Barrow Downs... this time, I got lucky and found my way through pretty quickly.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2026 6:06 am ... This, without a doubt, is the worse part of the game, because of the mechanics of it....Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2026 6:06 am ... There's a part coming up under the mountain. I hate that, because the waves never stop, so you're bound to fail.
That's a hard part. Good luckTawmis wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2026 2:44 pm This, without a doubt, is the worse part of the game, because of the mechanics of it....
