These are pretty good. I guess Roger would be a stable boy in this world.

I was thinking the same thing at first until I realized that since SQ1 starts out on a spaceship, its fantasy equivalent would be a sailing ship, meaning Roger would have to be a cabin boy:
The soil of the kingdom of Xenonia yielded fewer crops every season, and none of the magic in the land was able to rejuvenate it. However, a precious artifact able to save the kingdom from famine was rumored to reside in a far off-land, and a crew of Xenonia's people set out to bring the artifact back to their homeland. Unfortunately, on its return voyage, the ship was overrun by the merciless pirates known as the Sariens, who made off with the precious artifact and slaughtered nearly the entire crew. Only the ship's lazy (though surprisingly resourceful) cabin boy was undiscovered -- the only hope for the future of his people.

Hi Akril, lovely to see you! What fun drawings! I'm curious to the backstory that got Alexander his metal hand.

I didn't think too much about the glove/gauntlet thing aside from it being one of the many bits of cyberpunkish accessories in his design. I figured that the sort of advanced hacking that comes with the cyberpunk territory is the closest thing to magic in a sci-fi scenario, so instead of learning spells he would be installing temporary upgrades that allow him to, say, commandeer a flying robot instead of transforming into an eagle.
Graham's design is pure Golden Age sci-fi, while Valanice's look is heavily based off of Princess Leia's signature white outfit, and Rosella is based on Ruby, a character from a very obscure sci-fi series I used to really love during my adolescence and young adulthood.
