Re: Does the 2006 Police Quest Collection have some advantage over the 1996 Collection when using the installers?
Awesome, thanks! So by using the installers with the Collection Series (1997) of each of these game series, am I getting the best possible experience for each game? Any noticeable exceptions? For example I remember you telling me that the Space Quest Collection Series Installer didn’t include a cert...

Does the 2006 Police Quest Collection have some advantage over the 1996 Collection when using the installers?
I noticed that under the 2006 Police Quest Collection installer, it says "Addresses all known issues with this release. As with the patch, if you have the AGI version of PQ1, the installer can add the missing game to the collection." Does this mean that the 1996 is sub-par or does not addr...

Re: Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
There are several versions of Sierra's first SCI game, "King's Quest IV: The Perils of Rosella". In addition to revisions of the PC version, there were ports for other platforms. These ports often had different features based on what the abilities of the target platform. The Amiga port ha...

The Black Cauldron: Point and Click sound not working
Edit: Not sure if this qualifies as piracy in any way/shape/or form since these were found on the SCI programmers wiki. If so, please remove links. I downloaded the Black Cauldron: Point and Click SCI version from this link . However, I get no sound. When I downloaded it instead from this link , the...

Ah, I see. They can still be extracted from the exe, that's good.

High Res icons not included with collection series installer
I installed KQ5 with the collection series (1997?) installer and noticed that it did not incude a high resolution icon (256x256) as many of the other installers do. I haven't yet checked the other KQ games in the collection series installer to see if this is also the case with them or not.

Interesting. So does your installer just use the default Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth?

Re: Is there a QFG collection installer for Steam/GOG releas
I guess I'm just ignorant as to how general midi works with DOSBox. I assumed that you needed an external program (such as virtualMIDIsynth or bassmidi) as well as a soundfont for general midi to work properly, so I was surprised when using your QFG 3 installer seemed to work without either of those...

Re: Is there a QFG collection installer for Steam/GOG releas
Does the Quest for Glory III installer from the collection installer include a version of DOSBox with integrated general midi emulation?
If so, what is the emulator, and what soundfont is being used?

Re: King's Quest IV SCI install.exe does not work
And what about as it relates to KQ4 Ultimate (with Amiga sounds)? -- I don't seem to have an install.exe for this version. After using your installer for KQ4 Ultimate, should I have install.exe for this version?

Re: Do the new Sierra installers include all relevant patche
One more question - Some of the patches say to install the game with the "full install" option before applying the patch. So, can I assume that if I've installed the game using your installers, that it's equivalent to a "full install" and that all of the requisite files that the ...

Re: Do the new Sierra installers include all relevant patche
Right. Well, I have no desire to repatch the games, but it's hard to know exactly what's been applied and what hasn't. For example. There is a patch for KQ6 which makes it so that the music volume doesn't lower when speech plays. That wasn't added with your installers. If I misapplied the patch, wou...

Re: Do the new Sierra installers include all relevant patche
Hello again - Do your installers include any of the patches from this thread ? For example, tikalat posted a patch for KQ7 that fixes some issues with midi, music, and speech. Do your patchers include anything like this or might I still want to apply these manually? I'm afraid I've put the cart befo...
