What's funny is the PC version is like 4 colors - but the Amiga version looks much better. Go and figure.

Re: What are you playing now?
Amiga things were often better looking at the time.
It really does bring the starting + second area of zelda 2 to my mind though. Probably due to the rocks.
I have been playing Subnautica below zero in small amounts. Some parts are a lot scarier than the first (mostly due to the sounds) and some parts are very pretty.
The story so far seems a bit random, but the sea and swimming is as beautiful as in the first game

Bought the Clue / Cluedo Season Pass on Steam. The regular Clue is now under 6 euros for 1 board with 6 characters, all functions available. With the Season Pass you get 10 boards and 78 characters!

Re: What are you playing now?
Good timing, BBP -- Steam just started their summer sale, and this game is 50% off. Enjoy!

Re: What are you playing now?
What's the difference between the Clue game and the "Season Pass"? *curious* I mean, I like Clue, but is the "Season Pass" just the same game, but with different houses/weapons/clothes for the people to wear/etc.?
Re: What are you playing now?
You need standard Clue to enjoy the season pass.
Standard Clue is 1 set of characters (with Orchid, not Mrs White) in one board (Tudor Mansion). It will allow full functionality - playable alone with up to 5 AIs, playable with friends in front of the TV who do all need to have a phone or tablet to install the (free) notebook app, or with friends via the web, or with random people online.
The Season Pass is the expansion kit.
When you buy it you get a total of 10 boards with different themes - aside from Tudor, there's Classic based on the original 1949 game, Wild West board, Vampire Castle, Hollywood, Ski Resort, Sherlock Holmes, Murder Express, Tropical Cruise, Egyptian Set, and Venetian Masquerade. All boards have their own graphics (all animated and richly detailed, all with their own music and with a set of weapons that match the setting).
Besides there is a full set of characters (two even have 9 characters) for all boards, plus the added "International" set sporting 6 popular Cluedo universe characters (Mrs White, Madame Rose, Miss Peach, Inspector Grey and someone else). Every board has its own character selection from the Clueniverse - some boards sport Azure, Peach or Rose. Even Rusty made a comeback. White has a lot of versions too.
Sherlock Holmes allows the titular character, and Watson, Irene Adler and Moriarty as characters - what fun it was when I played Moriarty and on one of my first turns guessed correctly - it was Sherlock!
In a 1-player game you can set all AIs as you please - if you want Ms Peacock in her scubadiving kit roaming the vampire castle, no-one's gonna stop you!
As a music person it was a huge advantage to play different music - the ol' Tudor theme had become so familiar I was singing whatever was happening ingame to that tune.
The Cluedo forum I mod used to have this amazing topic about all the sets, unfortunately I deleted it by accident after a spammer had created hundreds of topics. We made a new one of course but there were only 3 sets to be released.

Re: What are you playing now?
*checks out the thread* Er. My goodness. I'm familiar with the original, of course, but I never realised there were so many variants of Clue! Wow.
Are the mechanics of the game all the same across the variants, though? I mean, does the game still play the same -- i.e. roll dice, walk into room, guess about "murderer, room, weapon" etc.?

Re: What are you playing now?
I imagine it does. There's like a zillion versions of Monopoly - it's just a different skin over the same game, I imagine.Rath Darkblade wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 6:09 pm *checks out the thread* Er. Yes - the game plays the same. What's more, if you only have the regular Cluedo and you're playing online with people who have season pass, they can all have different boards. Like, if you ask for the Ballroom in a standard game, an opponent playing the Vampire set, would see you asking for the Throne Room.
A lot of skins have been made over the years of Cluedo- some better, some worse. But nowhere near as many as Monopoly. I have the Eindhoven Monopoly game.
Of course if you want to be sure you'll like it, you can buy Standard for like 6 euros, and choose to upgrade if you "tasted blood and want more".

Re: What are you playing now?
Oh yes, I imagine I would like Clue. I liked it just fine playing the board game. I'm just thinking -- if the mechanics are the same, wouldn't it get a bit boring to play the "Classic" set, then the "Ballroom" set, then the "Vampire" set and so on?
All right, the characters, setting, weapons and music all change. But the point of the game is the same, right?
That's why I never got into the different Monopoly variants. Whether it's set in London or Melbourne or New York or Middle Earth, the point is to create monopolies and not go bust.

Re: What are you playing now?
teehee you play what you want when you want it, but yes the net result is the same.

Re: What are you playing now?
Ah, fair enough. It sounds interesting, but I think I might play the Classic set first, give it a rest, and then try the other sets. That way, I won't get "Clue fatigue".
I can just imagine how it would go if I tried all the Clue sets at once ...
"But the net result is the same! Ahh, let's play Monopoly instead."
*ten seconds later...*
"But it's all the same again!" *switches to Middle-Earth Monopoly; ten seconds later...* "Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!" *runs out screaming*
