You and me and everyone else, judging from the commentary on youtubr but at least our buddy is surviving. Even with one less claw.

noooooo
You can not say "noooooooo" and have the thumbnail be "bad news about leon"....

I was certain this was gonna be about Leon dying.

But it's not. You freaked me out. lol
I was so sad about this, I couldn't bear to watch the video. Looks like I got punk'd? ;)

Yeah, the guy even said he will probably regrow his claw and everyone will get to see it.

Well, there is bad news but nothing horrible (see BBP's comment and my reply as to what happened).

The even better news is that the detached claw will grow a new Leon, so there will be two of them in the tank.

What? I don't think that's right. Because the severed claw has no heart, brain, etc.

I guess poor Tawmis has never heard of the old time-tested scientific theory of "spontaneous abiogenesis."

If I recall one of my schoolbooks, until people learned better, in ye olden times they thought mice would come from bags of grain and such...

While it does work for worms, Tawm, I was being rather facetious. Lobsters are a bit too complex for that to happen...

But think if it did! Lobster Thermidor for everyone!

Yes, and they also used to believe that flies were born out of piles of cow poo.

They also believed that when bears were born, they were simply formless bits of matter, until Mama Bear -- using her tongue -- licked them into the shape of a little tiny Baby Bear. (That's where the phrase "lick into shape" comes from). :)

What? Noooooooooooo! *gathers up all the Leon the Lobsters and hugs them protectively* :(

Seriously, it would be nice if it worked. But where would you get enough butter and brandy to make Lobster Thermidor for everyone on earth? ;)

Earthworms can regenerate a new body if you cut them in two but most species of earthworm will only give you 1 shorter worm that's seriously injured, and a dead worm leftover that can still wiggle if it has enough energy. As tiny as they are, they do have a separate head, tail and internal organs. Best leave them alone, they're very important for plant growth.

I wouldn't hug lobster if I were you, but there's something cute about Leon isn't there? Fortunately he's doing better and already busy growing his new claw.
