Looking for Space Quest 1 EGA.

If anyone sees it anywhere - by all means link it here (if you're not bidding on it yourself) - so that I can try to get it. :)

Yeah there's a tool called eSnipe or something (I'd have to look it up) used specifically for that.

A good way to successfully win bids on eBay is to always bid with unusual amounts. For instance, say the bidding is up to $30 and you really want this item. Well, instead of bidding with $35, you use $35.87 instead.

That extra 87 cents seems worthless, but most people bid without thinking of cents. So if someone attempts to outbid you -- either manually or automatically -- that tiny amount may save your butt. It doesn't always work, of course, but it's been a useful tactic for me.

It's what I do, as well. I always bid an unusual amount of over (usually over 60 cents)... so it'd be like 10.83, 10.63, etc etc. Because people usually bid in dollar or 50 cent marks. :)

However, there's eSnipe which is horrible. See a previous post in this thread where I said I don't know whether to laugh or cry... that was me capturing my bid - was going to post it as finally being mine... but then someone eSniped me.

And my victory was taken away from me in the last 4 seconds, by exactly enough to beat my bid. I am not sure how eSnipe knows the max bid - but it does. (Because at the time I bid and was winning it was 4 bids - the eSnipe came in at the 5th bid - and jumped exactly the amount needed to take me out).

Here's another trick: bid higher than you're willing to pay for it, lol. In my case that resulted in 30 wins, no losses and an empty bank account
Sorry about that previous SQ1, Tawmis. I didn't read this thread and didn't expect you'd go for the 1986 release. What was your max bid if i may ask?
