I got alarmingly lucky yesterday and found the Roberta Williams Anthology in a thrift store less than five minutes from home. I got it for $4.32 -- more than ten times less than it's selling for on eBay (although one of the international sellers is letting it go for roughly the same price...odd). It's just the 4-CD jewel case, but I haven't gotten this excited over a game find in years.

Wow! Seriously why are there no such thrift stores in San Diego? That's an INCREDIBLE find. I need to replace my own RWA. Mine was lost or borrowed to someone - no idea where it is. A few of my games vanished in the multiple moves.

That sounds wrong. Of course, my mind is constantly in the gutter. :D

I have most of those games -- in their original boxes too. The only three that I don't "technically" have (but do own) are KQ1, KQ2 and The Black Cauldron for my old AppleII. Obviously, I can't run those today, even with an AppleII emulator. These games were on 5.25" floppy diskettes and even 3.5" drives are becoming difficult to find, let alone 5.25" ones.

Yep, last night. It was a bit annoying cause the auctions ended at 5AM local time. I had to bid hours before the end and go high enough for others to give up on it, lol.

What's interesting is that, with the exception of a few games (such as Breach 3), I own every game shown here and more. Nearly all of my games are in their original boxes too.

If I were to going to purchase an older game, I'd probably be interested in Aces of the Deep. I have every other Flight Simulator made by Dynamix, including a demo version of Desert Fighters, which was never released. A friend of mine worked on that game and was surprised I had it, too.

Can you post a zip of the Desert Fighters demo here? I could put it up on SHP with the other demos.

You outbid me then... well I was one of them. Linked it in my Trying to Acquire Space Quest 1 EGA thread.

Well at least I know it went into loving hands... when I got beat.

I would, but I have it on a disc that's not with me at the moment. When I can get, I'll send the ZIP to you.

I know I've already bought this game, but I couldn't let this one for only $16 get by me :D
