I'm pretty sure that my favorite is that copy of Hero's Quest. I'm happy about that one.

Best part about coming home from college is seeing the packages that I have waiting for me.

My *Updated* Collection

Post by JasefWisener »

Seeing as it's been quite a while since I posted my collection, I figure I may as well now. It's still pretty modest compared to most of the ones here, but I'm working on it.

Right now, here's my list:

King's Quest I, III, IV, V (VGA Box and CD), VI, VII, MoE
Space Quest I (VGA), V, VI
Police Quest I (VGA), II, OS, SWAT 2 (CD Only)
Leisure Suit Larry III, 7 (CD Only)
Hero's Quest, Quest for Glory II, III, IV, V (CD Only)
Shivers (Box and SO Release), Shivers II
Gabriel Knight 1 (Rectangular Box and SO Release), 2, 3
Gobliins 2
Laura Bow 2
Conquests of Camelot, Conquests of the Longbow
Inca (Box w/Floppies and CD), Inca II (CD Only)
Outpost 2
Oil's Well
Manhunter 2
Gold Rush
Codename: Iceman
Stellar 7
Phantasmagoria, Phantasmagoria 2
Sierra's School House English
FEAR
Aliens Versus Predators 2: Gold Edition
The Incredible Machine 3.0 (CD Only)
Torin's Passage (SO Release)
Half-Life (CD Only)
The Rise and Rule of Ancient Kingdoms (CD Only)
Hoyle Bridge
Web Studio 2.0
Print Artist

As for collections, I have:

King's Quest Collection Series
Space Quest Collection Series
Quest for Glory Collection Series
Police Quest Collection Series
Leisure Suit Larry Collection Series
Roger Wilco Unclogged
Space Quest Collection (VU)
Police Quest Collection (VU)
King's Quest Collection (VU)
You Don't Know Jack Pack

And, finally, from GOG I've purchased (and made DVD cases for):

The Beast Within
Phantasmagoria, Phantasmagoria 2
The Incredible Machine Mega Pack

There's a lot of room to grow, and I'm looking forward to expanding even more.

Very nice start. One glaring omission is that you want both the CD and floppy versions of KQ6. The CD version is a must have for obvious reasons, but it is the floppy version that has the most desirable version of the Guidebook to the Land of the Green Isles.

I'm always surprised to see a classics fan get into FPS games :D . Those are actually really good games though. Half-Life is legendary of course because of its innovation, but F.E.A.R. is IMO the best FPS you currently have. That game scared the crap out of me the first time I played it. Monolith is an absolute master at creating FPS games. If you're planning to buy more FPS games, I would strongly recommend "No One Lives Forever: The Operative (GotY edition)", also created by Monolith and published by Sierra/Vivendi. Not just a mindless shoot-whatever-moves game, but a very tactical spy game with a great storyline.

I got Maia into playing FPS, but then she'll only play co-op or multiplayer where we can be on the same side. Granted, we don't always get on the same team (usually due to auto-balancing), but we try the best we can.

For those who're new to FPS, I'd strongly recommend Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 (both of which are part of the Halloween sale on Steam) so long as you have at least one friend to play alongside. The L4D games don't use the "classic" definition of multiplayer, seeing as how the main game is meant to be played by up to four people cooperating with each other.

Maia likes the fact the L4D games play that way, since it's her and me without any assholes mucking it up. That's not to say you don't find some really good team players in Team Fortress 2, but you'll also find your fair share of idiots.

Believe me, I know what you're saying. I'm looking for a copy of the floppy version, but it's just not at the top of my list right now. I'm working on that one, though.

I love No One Lives Forever! I've got a friend that has it, so I've played some of it myself and loved what I have. I've definitely considered picking it up.

Nice eye candy! I've never seen that version of the SQ collection before the one in the middle.
