Your Favorite Moment?
Your Favorite Moment?
You can either do you favorite moment out of each game - or your favorite moment of the entire series. But let's hear them!
And note - it's favorite MOMENT - singular! So don't tell me about 10 different ones in a single game! I am looking for that single moment in the series or in each game that really made you say wow, laugh, or something!

Mine is when you take a shower in Laura Bow 1...
And not cuz she's naked for a second... I swear... It's what follows.

Re: Your Favorite Moment?
Datadog, that same moment freaked me out too in LB1! The silhouette outside the windows walking by.
LB2: Tawm, I can't pick just one!! Okay, it would have to be seeing the countess' wide open, half dead eyes, laying on Dr. Myklos' desk. When I was little, I had to cover the screen at that part!

Re: Your Favorite Moment?
This is probably going to sound sick, but I thought it was quite amusing when you find out Ziggy's head has been chopped off by a paper cutter in LB2. Something about that just makes me laugh.
My "favorite" moment, however, would probably be the ending of LB2. It was really cool how the ending changed depending on what you actions you too and spoke to before presenting your evidence.

Re: Your Favorite Moment?
That was the same case for LB1 (which, when I first got it, was only "The Colonel's Bequest."
Favorite moment? Geez, its been a while since I played. So I'm going to have to think...
It wasn't so much a moment, as the entire atmosphere, I got from LB1...the location, the character of Laura Bow, etc. Since I played this when I was pretty young, I have a sneaking suspicion it ultimately impacted what I chose to do for the rest of my life. So blame that nosy reporter for getting me into this mess. :p
As for LB2...I think the first murder scene got to me. It's not like I didn't know it was coming (it was a screenshot on the box, and you saw the blood trail from the mummy case) but...yeah.

Re: Your Favorite Moment?
Unfortunately, I don't remember enough detail to say which was my favourite moment for each game. There are a couple moments that stand out, so I'll share those.
One was in The Colonel's Bequest . I was mighty surprised when the chandelier fell on Laura. "It will take a while to get the splinters out." That game was good at surprising you by coming up with environmental dangers later in the game that weren't there earlier.
For some reason, I recall finding a certain scene amusing in The Dagger of Amon Ra. Perhaps it was because it emphasised Laura's wide-eyed naiveté. When she was in the speakseasy asking about the countess, the female friend of the countess says something about Laura "pulling her leg" and Laura responds "I'm not pulling anything. I'm not that kind of girl."

Re: Your Favorite Moment?
I seem to recall that being fairly early on in the game. I mean like the chandelier falling and leaning on the banister. I don't recall those happening at the beginning of the game, but they did later on. I was lulled into a false sense of security, thinking I'd already safely navigated that area.Collector wrote:You mean like if you have Laura take a shower?Maiandra wrote:I was mighty surprised when the chandelier fell on Laura. The chandelier smashed me at the very beginning of the game...

And the railing got me in the beginning... several times (like a couple of months later, or years later), I'd still fall for it.
Get it? Fall for it?
Oh nevermind.

Ba da tch!
It got somewhat annoying, avoiding the railing and chandelier every time you needed to go through that area. Sometimes I'd walk alllll the way around the house to avoid that dumb thing.
