Quest for Glory II VGA for free download

Even though this is not new news, for those that do not know AGDInteractive has released their VGA remake of Quest for Glory II: Trial by Fire. This was done in consultation with the Coles and is compatible saved characters with the other Glory games. It features a point and click interface and a revamped combat system. You can find this free download on the AGDI website. The game does not use a Sierra engine, so support can be found on their AGDI message boards.

I'm playing through this one as part of my QfG marathon and I have to say I love it. The new revamped combat system is so full of options and I find myself constantly wandering into the desert just to try out some new battle techniques. It's so satisfying to go face-to-face against one Jackalman, and kick away all the others that try to gain up on me.

Not to mention all the work and animation they put into this. Coupled with the KQ2 remake, ADG Interactive is really doing a fantastic job improving on these classics.

QFG2VGA Version 2.0 was just released today with a ton of bug fixes and also a Mac version!

I just finished it for the first time today! It's a shame it was missing a couple of things.

I seem to remember you could go into the harem and at the end you went through a portal. I'm not too sure about the latter but the former I'm very sure of. It's been almost 20 years since I played through the EGA version.

You might be talking about the thief ending. If you do it right, you get to see the harem in Rasier, but after that you get to a balcony across from Ad Avis's tower, where he is summoning Iblis.

The portal comes much later, in the introduction to QfG3.
