AGDI Unveils King's Quest III Redux!
After 8 years the secret is out. Play it this February! I've put a huge percentage of the last decade of my life into this game's soundtrack and I hope you'll all enjoy it when it's ready!

Heh - I dig the website.
The screens look incredible. Man, what I wouldn't give to be a part of something like that.

After seeing what they did with KQ2 and QFG2, I am certainly looking forward to this.

AGDI? How does this relate to the Infamous Adventures KQ3?

Not in any way. They are two completely different animals and very different styles. IA are just as stoked about it, though. Our version was actually started long before IA's. But it's not a contest. Just an explanation for the reason why there are two in existence.

When KQ3 Redux was founded, IA did not even exist yet.

There is voice acting. There are no plot twists to anything really. It's the same original story underneath and not overly overhauled like KQ2+ was. There are a fair number of additions and side-things not pertaining to the main storyline, though. You'll just have to find out when you play it!

Given that it was just Christmastime when I played this last (Sierra's), I'm pretty excited about it too. I had no idea, MI, that you had put so much into it! Makes it even cooler (to me) ... it's always fun to "know" someone that's a part of something like this...MusicallyInspired wrote:There is voice acting. There are no plot twists to anything really. I wish I could've done some voice acting for it. Not that I applied or have a ton of experience, but it still would've been neat to do so.

Since this is my favorite KQ game, after KQVI of course, I'm sure I'll check it out!
Aw, Manannan's cat! That cat is so adorable...

Re: AGDI Unveils King's Quest III Redux!
It's kinda funny actually... I remember pitching a KQ3 remake idea to Britney Brimhall when I was Online Community Director for Tierra. They had their hands full with KQ1VGA at that time, so nothing ever came of it though. To be honest though, my idea was way ahead of the times and looking back on it, was way too ambitious. My idea was basically remake KQ3 with 3D graphics and utilize a fixed camera for each "room" that could dynamically move to set locations around the room to provide a cinematic view of that area along with a musical score than could change tempo and/or theme based upon your actions and/or the in-game clock.
For example (and I found this on my computer as part of my original pitch), in the main hall of Manannan's house, the camera provides the classic view of the entire hall, but when the player moves to in front of the staircase, the camera would pan over to a point on the ceiling angled down the stairway to the landing. The game would also utilize elaborate cutscenes, such as when Manannan first appears in the main hall, the camera moves to a point on the staircase landing pointed upward and Manannan appears in a puff of smoke with a peal of lightning streaking across the sky viewable through a double-pained window behind the wizard while the flames on a pair of candelabra flicker violently on either side of the window.
Honestly... looking back on that pitch (which was 2001 mind you), it would have been a very ambitious undertaking and certainly would not have been possible using AGS, which is AGDI's engine of choice. It actually sounds a lot like The Silver Lining truth be told, at least in the presentation department... and look how long THAT has been in development. **lol**
I definitely can't wait to play KQ3 Redux. The artwork in those screenshots is absolutely jaw dropping.
