What do you guys think of these games?
I have all four of them but I've only played half through the first one, and I'm not impressed. Should I overcome my sensation and play the whole series? Does it get better?
Thanks!

Re: Broken Sword
Oh my! How can you say that!?
It's my favorite series - well, the first two anyway
Again, I'm a sucker for the cartoon style from back then.
And Stobbard is a very likeable character - in my eyes anyway.
The first two has a nice long story and many locations and people to visit and interact with.
So come on, fire them up - and when done, be sure to download the free fanmade Broken Sword 2.5
They have done an excellent job.. yes they have.

I'll trust you!misslilo wrote:Oh my! How can you say that!?

My main problem is that I don't like the cartoon graphics and the whole Knight Templar story feels a bit stretched (at least after GK3 ). Besides, the Italian guy that did George's voice is really, really horrible

Don't forget that these are supported by ScummVM, too.

I have four of them, but so far I've only played Secrets of the Ark. It was fairly good, though I had trouble with the shimmying part as I'm really not used to this type of game. My husband thoroughly enoyed listening to me play though - he's a history buff.

Re: Broken Sword
I played the first two Broken Sword games and enjoyed them thoroughly, being a history buff. Some of the puzzles are a looooong stretch though, and I shamefully had to resort to a walkthrough. *hangs his head*

Re: Broken Sword
I believe there there's also a copy of the first two Broken Sword games on the Gameboy Advanced. That's an outdated system nowadays, but GBA games can be played on the Nintendo DS.Collector wrote:Don't forget that these are supported by ScummVM, too.
I have no idea about the compatibility with the Wii, but you are supposed to have some sort of "interaction" when using a DS on the Wii. I'm not sure what, however, since I don't own a DS. I've got a PSP instead, which I don't play that much, but it's good for long flights.

You can play the ScummVM supported games on any portable device that ScummVM has been ported to. Space Quest 1 on your iPhone, anyone?

Re: Broken Sword
That's true; however, to properly install ScummVM on a game system such as the Wii (which seems to require The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess in order to hack the it) or PSP, you need to alter the system in some manner. Simply downloading the game and installing it won't work those platforms. I wish it did.Collector wrote:You can play the ScummVM supported games on any portable device that ScummVM has been ported to. Space Quest 1 on your iPhone, anyone?
