You can have any of the other ones! She's all mine! (Ironically, she's also playing my favorite female character in said fan film! So that may be part of the reason for my obsession!) But you can see more here: http://elfquestfantrailer.com/gallery.htmlRakeesh wrote:Mine too, which makes me inquire more about the fan film (and her identity )

Well, it's because she's playing Nightfall. She is the love mate of my favorite character of the series, Redlance.dotkel50 wrote:Your heart?
As a kid, well younger anyway, I was absolutely in love with Redlance and Nightfall. Redlance is the gentle soul, he's a plant shaper, pacificist, and such. While Nightfall was the tough hunter, but the most tender of lovers as well. As a couple, they were so awesome in the series. So I have always had a crush on Nightfall (or the idea of her). So to see a woman, who closely resembles her, playing the role - it was like this childhood fantasy coming to life. So that's what I mean by my heart. As a younger lad, my ideal woman revolved around the idea of Nightfall. A woman who was tough, go get'em, and yet when it came to loving her mate, there were few as true in their love and passion as Nightfall.
ElfQuest began it's publishing like 1976, which is when I first got into it (I was around 6 or 7). And originally published every 3 months (unlike most comics who published monthly). So I "grew up" with ElfQuest, since the original series was 20 issues long.

Re: Fan film by some wonderful ladies...
ElfQuest - the original 20 issues - is some of the greatest reading ever, in terms of comics. And ElfQuest is definitely NOT a "kiddy" comic - as near the end of the series, there are some violent deaths, a big sex scene (but tactfully drawn), and it's about how this small tribe changes because of the quest that's forced upon them.
ElfQuest is now available for free reading, and I'd love for folks to check it out. Wendy Pini's art, grows drastically over time (since each issue is released every 3 months) - so what you see in the beginning is very different than what you will see by the end. Her art is beautiful. Well placed. She's a professional through and through with how she does it all.
First 5 issues set up the story. The main quest begins with issue #6. By issue #12 there's an amazing twist. By issue #17, the war begins.
Give it a look. It's free. What could it hurt?

Interesting!
I know the name ElfQuest since my childhood, which fascinated me, but since there was no way for me to learn or read more (it was never published in my country) I never did. I saw some of it and the concept seems original and intriguing. I will definitely read through the comics
As for the trailer, I found it mediocre. The chicks are gorgeous though

I'm surprised that ElfQuest wasn't published in your country, as it did manage to get some officially translated publications (especially in the Europe area - Spanish, French, Italian, I believe Dutch?) - but it was several years after it was published in the United States, I believe.Rakeesh wrote:Interesting!

The original quest (20 issues linked above) is some great story telling. It's not kiddy comic - but I don't want to say it's an "adult comic" or for "mature readers" - because then that conveys the image that it's all sex or something like that. And it's not. But ElfQuest reminds me of a book that got translated (wonderfully) into comic book format. Because the 20 issues tell a single over all arching story about the Wolfriders. It has a start and an end.
There's other ElfQuest comics that came out after the original 20 (one's a 8 issue story, the other was like a 6 issue story? I can't remember) that Wendy Pini did. Years later, they had an ongoing.
But nothing beats the original 20 issues. I just wish I had a way of convincing people just to try it.
