I have found that new systems often don't seem to like XP. Perhaps it is because the XP drivers for new hardware is are not optimized or other issues, but I have had a fair bit of frustration trying to install XP on new systems. I'll never do it for my self again, but when I build a system for someone else,l I have to give them what they want if it is possible. Installing XP on a modern system now is like installing Windows 2 in a system built for Windows 98. XP is a decade old system, ancient by computers standards.

I am reminded that the people that were the most vocal in their hated of Vista were mostly 32-bit users. 64-bit Vista was much better than the 32-bit flavor. People with 64-bit Vista were far more likely to be satisfied. Of course this is now moot with Windows 7.

After re-installing GM, I found I had no ear-piercing audio blurbs. Also, the bug I had with Angela in chapter 4 is now gone. The first time I also installed Direct X, this time I didn't. Hmmmm.

All I can say about Vista is it makes me appreciate my Win 7 laptop even more.

Finished playing it some time ago. It had a belated release here, but i still managed to find it at bargain price even though it was almost new (just shows the decline in the popularity of the genre :-( ) Anyways, I liked it alot. I thought the music was really great at creating an ambience and the setting made me want to study at oxford :P . The only thing i disliked was the ending, it seemed way to forced and more like a 'we need to wrap this up' and there where some questions left unanswered.

Personally, I don't think of them as unanswered questions but plot strands deliberately left ambiguous for the player to freely interpret. And I like it this way ;)

Furthermore, the very last scene hints at the possibility of a sequel. I don't know if Gray Matter proved successful enough for DTP to produce a second installment, but I surely hope so!

While we're at it, do you guys know if there's some website that show the amount of copies sold by a given game? Something like a game-related BoxOffice?

By questions unanswered I meant how the person resonsible did the things they did. It was like the creators couldn't decide what ability this person possessed.

Her abilities as revealed in the end don't fit whith what she was capable of earlier in the game. There's a lot of telekinesis going on, but in the end all she can do is produce lightning/electricity around her. You see that she was looking at him through the window from the tower and they more than sugested that she somehow projected herself over to him

Well', it's been a while since I played the game, sure, but I don't remember a similar inconsistence.

Don't read below if you haven't finished the game!

Angela is show throughout the game to have a wide array of ESP powers, but bear in mind that most of the time we see her "actions" while she is under David's experiement, that is to say when her mind is somewhat sharpened and heigthened, so to speak. In the finale, on the other hand, she's simply Angela and, while powerful, she's not as powerful as when under the experiment's influence. Or, at least, this is the explanation I seem to remember. I should probably replay the game, though.

I never thought about it that way, however, I still don't remember any form of explanations to the fact (maybe I was just too tired, I seem to remeber playing untill rather late in the night). Anyways, even if they explicitly said it somewhere I'd still think the ending seemed rushed and the culprit had too many abilities for my taste. But I fear the ending thing is the fault of a harsh deadline and the wish to not get canceled after so many years of waiting and postponing :-). But overall i really really liked it and can't wait for a possible sequel :-D.

I have the US edition, but I recently bought the Collector's Edition for the pretty :D

Anyway, I really love this game. The story is amazing. Love Sam and David. Even though the puzzles are fairly easy, it captivated me till the very end. The ending really just made me crave for more. I really hope there is a sequel!
