All correct. Tales of Monkey Island is a great game. Most of the same people worked on it. Ron Gilbert, Monkey Island's creator, even had a hand in it, which is more than you can say for Curse or Escape.

Thanks Brandon. I think I'll wait then until after I (someday) procure and play the original games in the series. I'd like to have a proper historical appreciation for the series first.

thanks,

Here is a copy of Monkey Island Madness for a starting bid of $4.95 and a "buy it now" for $14.95. This is the version that I have. It includes the first two games and as a bonus, the MI1 has Redbook digital audio music tracks. You can rip these audio tracks to your hard drive so they can be used with ScummVM.

thanks, I'll stab a bid... is there a "complete collection" akin to the Sierra collections for SQ/KQ/etc?

Won the Monkey Island Madness CD .. thanks for the tip. Looking forward to playing these, and without Steam. :)

Not Steam or GoG but Telltale's online store has pretty much everything for 75% off until the 30th.

GoG does have a 50% off sale on all Interplay games until July 4th as well, though.

Just about everything except BTTF, however, so we won't get that for a good deal. :P

Yeah. That and Puzzle Agent 2, but if you preorder that you at least get 10% off. You can, however, buy the Sam & Max Complete Collection for $12.50 (regular $49.95).

Steam's having a huge sale that runs from June 30 to July 10, so I'd recommend checking it out.

BTTF is 50% off today at $12.49, so now's a good time to get it!

I'm thinking about buying the Telltale Complete Pack from Steam, but I can't tell if I can gift the games that I already bought (Tales of Monkey Island). I actually thought I had more than that, but I realized they're retail copies, and I haven't even opened them yet.

Okay, right now Steam has Beat Hazard Ultra on sale. This is a ONE DAY sale (and that one day is today!), so if you like music-based games at all, I'd strongly recommend buying it, particularly BHU as it has a lot of neat features the vanilla BH doesn't include.

Also on sale is Terraria, which can be best described as a 2D side-scrolling version of Minecraft. This is a "Midweek Madness" sale, so it's good until 4PM PST on Thursday.

Starting Thursday (December 8, 2011), GOG is beginning its holiday sales, which will last through January 2, 2012. Here's the notice about it on their website.

Steam is having a big daily sale from now until the end of December on select titles each day (multiple titles, not one a day as was previously). Also, they're starting something similar to the Summer Camp Activity they had back in August or whatever. It's a Great Gift Pile objective game. You're given about 6 or so new objectives each day (achievements for random games in the catalogue) that you have to accomplish. Once you accomplish each one you get either a gift from the Great Gift Pile (which you can open yourself, trade with a friend, or simply give it away) or a lump of coal. You can either save up your coal to exchange seven lumps of coal for a gift from the Great Gift Pile or you can save them up as one entry per lump of coal for the Epic Holiday Giveaway which is drawn on January 2nd. And here are the prizes for that:

Grand Prize (1 winner) - EVERY SINGLE GAME ON STEAM (that's over 4000 items!)
First Prize (50 winners) - Top ten items on your Steam wishlist
Second Prize (100 winners) - Top 5 items on your Steam wishlist
Third Prize (1000 winners) - The Valve Complete Pack

I'm gonna be saving all my coal.

It's not clear what gifts are in the Great Gift Pile so I assume they're meant as a surprise once you win one. I should also add that the Steam servers are currently being HAMMERED from the amount of traffic going on. Today's daily deals are (all 75% off):

Pendulo Studios Adventure Pack - $12.49
Sam & Max Complete Pack - $12.49
Singularity - $7.49
Bunch of Heroes - $2.49
Fable III - $12.49
Max Payne 1 & 2 - $2.49 (each)
Rift - $7.49
Amnesia - The Dark Descent - $4.99
Portal Bundle - $8.74
Just Cause - $3.74
Just Cause 2 - $4.99 (expansions are also on sale)
Orcs Must Die! - $3.74
Metro 2033 - $4.99

Probably the best thing item I bought with my tickets from the Summer Camp Activity was the gold ship in Beat Hazard. It's must easier to see your ship and tell it apart from all the other ships, missiles, lasers, explosions and light-strobe effects.
