I've got Torins Passage around here somewhere. You know I'll let you know if there's a problem.

To be honest, I have had many tower computers with two drives- usually a CD or DVD drive, and another CDR/DVDR drive. Nowadays I'm all laptops, but I do still have one IDE DVDROM drive that I keep in the same box as my 5.25" and 3.5" floppy drives.

I had to modify the script to skip the page if a floppy version is selected for the installers that support both floppy and CD versions. Here is Freddy with the new CD drop list page.

The Torin's Passage installer works ok.

Looks like some have voted, but did not post their reasons.

Somehow dropdown strikes me as much more logical.

Re: Which method do you prefer?
OK, found my FPFP floppy version, it installed ok but..... when i started the game I got the chapter 1 screen, the music started, and then everything froze. Now I had to run a recovery program on the resource.000 file on disk 2. Could that be the cause?
Re: Which method do you prefer?
If the RESOURCE.000 file from disk 2 was missing when you ran the installer, the main resource file would have been been bad. If you managed recover the missing file, copy it into the proper sub folder of the folder with your install files ( \2\BOTH\RESOURCE.000 ) and rerun the installer.

Re: Which method do you prefer?
The file wasn't missing. When i was copying the files from the floppies to my hard drive before running the installer, the resource.000 on disk 2 was corrupted. So i recovered it and copied it into my temp folder...fpfp/2/both. fpfp is the folder i installed from. The installer ran fine, I click on play, but it freezes at the ACT 1 screen.
Re: Which method do you prefer?
What is the size of the file? Run the diagnostic tool.

Re: Which method do you prefer?
It may not have correctly recovered the file. What is the MD5 of the RESOURCE.000 that you recovered? If you do not have a utility to get the MD5, try the HashTab shell extension.
http://implbits.com/HashTab.aspx
After you install it, right click on the file, choose "Properties" and click on the "File Hashes" tab. The correct MD5 for disk2 of version 1 should be BB6FC02637099DC85EFAF1EECAD144B1

Re: Which method do you prefer?
The MD5 for the original file is different from what you posted, and the recovered file is different from both what you posted and the original file.
