By King's Quest I (EGA) do you mean AGI? King's Quest I SCI is EGA.

I must admit that, despite my adoration for King's Quest, PQ2 is clearly the best of the bunch.

Larry 2 for me, though PQ2 is a close second.

Fixed.

And I did LSL2. I would agree PQ2 comes very close. But I really got into PQ with PQ3. That one was intense for me. But PQ2 leads up to PQ3. But to me, LSL2 felt so huge (despite some of the "bugs" of being on the airplane and having to phrase a certain chain of events in an exact, specific dialogue...)

I must admit that LSL2 is my least favorite installment of the original trilogy. While the world was definitely huge, the game lacked the simple charm of the first one and it certainly lacks the more complex story of LSL3. Do not mistake me: I still like it very much, but allow me to do a bit of campaigning...

Police Quest 2 improved so much over the first one. The story was gripping and many moments are pretty tense even today. The final segment is still one of the best climaxes of the genre. And the underwater sequence, while definitely challening, was very rewarding. Sure, it has those dreadful pistol-adjusting segments, but come on! It's clearly the best game of this bunch! Vote for it! :D

PS: Tawm, I love this tournament idea. By the time we finish with the main series, I'm really curious to see which are the last games standing. I bet I already know one of them (KQVI), but I can't wait to see the other ones! A question, though: why did you choose to exclude Gabriel Knight? ;)

Games should be compared with their peers of their eras. Not exactly fair to match up the simpler AGI games with the more mature, more complex games of the SCI 32 period. If this goes to the mid to later SCI era then I would question the omission, too.

SQ2 for me! :D I played LSL2 and PQ2 first, but I picked SQ2 just because it was so much more difficult (and so much easier to die in, and so much funnier when you did) that I got a real sense of accomplishment when I finished it. ;)

(Besides, no one else had voted for it yet, so someone had to take pity on our favourite janitor!)

This is actually a tough call between SQ2 and PQ2. I'm going to have to go with Space Quest again, though.

I was just going to do the "originals" - KQ, LSL, SQ, and PQ - all of them through (KQ1-KQ7, LSL1-3, er, 5-7, PQ1-4, SQ1-6). So there will be some mixture. And as Andrea said, I am certain who the ultimate winner will be, because of it. But just a fun thing to do for giggles, inspired by the conversation from another thread entirely!

Looks like those who did not vote in favor of LSL2, got the finger!

OK, I understand. Shouldn't QfG be on it then?

Well, anyway. The tournament is really nice, so who cares what's in it! ;)

Seconded! Devon Aidendale for President of the Universe! :P

Seriously, after LSL1 and Maniac Mansion (which doesn't count because it's not a Sierra game), QfG1 is the first adventure game I'd ever played. Nostalgia factor == HIGH. ;)
