The Commodore 64 is back!

Post by DeadPoolX »

Well, sort of. It's basically a Commodore 64 shell with new equipment inside it. What's funny is that it's selling for the same price ($595 USD) it sold for in 1982. :P

The price is insane... I don't think anyone would pay that for nostalgia... (and yes, I get there's modern stuff inside, I am just saying I don't think anyone would purchase that package - even with new stuff inside - for that price).

I love the idea. However, I loved/hated the keyboard - those keys were something else.

While the nostalgia factor is pretty high, I wouldn't even consider buying it.

Would anyone buy it if (like the original) it had 64Kb of memory inside? :P

Just imagine the pitch. "Yes, now you can play Dr J vs. Larry Bird, just like the old days!" :P

It should come preloaded with a whole bunch of Commodore 64 ROMs. Just because.

Holy crap that takes me back. The C64 was my first PC and I used it for a solid 7 years until my dad bought a 486 running DOS 5.0 and Windows 3.0.

Pretty cool item, although I'm not going to spend $600 on novelty nostalgia value.
