Sierra Poll: SVGA Era Part 1 (SCI32/LSCI) - PART ONE
The SVGA era! Part one! Games in hi-res 640x480. The only one I think that uses the SCI32 engine but is completely in 320x200 is QFG4. GK1 and PQ4 both have hi-res assets in game like sprites, cursors, and dialogue portraits. I have no idea if The Realm was SCI32. I imagine it was. But I'm adding it anyway just to have another selection.
I'm going with Space Quest again. It was just the best game experience I've had out of these games.

My head nearly exploded on this one.
I couldn't decide between GK or Torin's... In the end, I went with Torin's, because of the animation, and cartoony feel to it. Though, I have replayed GK more than I have Torin's.

If the final round comes down to GK1 and KQ6 I wonder which will win out...

QFG4. I liked Open Season as well, but QFG4 is too good. I did not like the final act of Gabriel Knight 1.

It's weird seeing all these SVGA games mixed in with these other ones. If I had to vote on which one used the technology best, I'd go with LSL7. They pretty much ironed out all the bugs with both the programming and animation by then, it has a great soundtrack, and the puzzles are very well woven into the gameplay.
Otherwise, it's a toss-up between GK1, QFG4, and Torin's Passage. I would've voted GK1, but my current replay of it is actually bringing up a lot of annoying things that are making me re-evaluate the quality of the game. So then I'd be stuck on a tie between QFG4 and Torin, and both of those games are relatively incomplete compared to LSL7.

I chose The Realm. Why? Because its downfall was, at least in part, due to an organized invasion by many UO players, including my brother and me. Good times.

KQ6. Because I am sure people like Andrea, Collector, and - well just about everyone else! - who would vote GK all the way through, would flip and choose KQ6 if it was between the two.MusicallyInspired wrote:If the final round comes down to GK1 and KQ6 I wonder which will win out...

Wrong, my dear Tawm. If you remember the characters polls Datadog did last year, I always vote for GK, when I can, because, in my humber opinion, GK surpasses everything else Sierra ever developed or produced.Tawmis wrote: KQ6.
