Re: Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers - A SHP Playthrough
BBP, it's OK to discuss the last two chapters. I would prefer, though, if we could keep our general thoughts on the entire adventure until everyone got a chance to post.
As for the book, it's a typo. I meant "books" in the foreground, the ones that frame the the bottom part of the room.

Ah OK. It's just that it took me so long to track down a US GK3 that I'm worried I'd have to do it again.

Re: Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers - A SHP Playthrough
What was kind of annoying me this time through is that if I ever tried to restore the game when something was going on or after Gabe died, the game would just sit there and I had to exit and come back in to restore. Plus, I noticed the dialogue slowing down as well. What's up with that? I had the same settings as the rest of the time.
I haven't played this game for so long that I forget some of the puzzle solutions. Thankfully, I actually remembered about the vine with the zombies, otherwise I might not have got that.
I hate chapter nine because of what happens with Wolfgang. I was kind of putting that off, because he's pretty awesome and I didn't want to see it, but obviously I had to finish the game.
One thing I noticed this time is that Wolfgang mentions that he has completed two of his three Schattenjager quests/tasks. I wonder what they are and what he did for the two he completed. I don't recall hearing about that ever. Do we find out at some point later in the series?
It actually didn't occur to me to use the Talisman on Grace. I thought I needed smelling salts or something. I just assumed she was drugged. Maybe it would have occurred to me if I hadn't been making a point to finish it tonight and thought it over more.
The funny thing is, throughout the game, I've never really felt any kind of understanding for Gabe's relationship with Malia. They somehow just didn't convey the depth of it well enough. However, the brief familial relationship he had with Wolfgang really made his death upsetting.
Anyway, I'm glad I played through the game again. It is a great game and I missed the characters and game world.

I used your installer. It worked great, except I had to crank up the speed big-time during the conclaves
Re: Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers - A SHP Playthrough
I was trying to determine if Maiandra's issues were with an installation from my installer. I'm not sure if there is much I'll be able to do about it, but I want to take a look at it if so.

Yes. Maybe there were some DOSBox settings I could have adjusted.

Can you attach a diagnostic log? Also, keep a save game from near one of the points where you encountered it.

Re: Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers - A SHP Playthrough
I give up. Now I remember why I never finished this game. I can't get past the zombie in room 5, never mind the multiple zombies in room 6. Anybody have a save game after room 5 or 6?

Re: Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers - A SHP Playthrough
Unfortunately, I use only one slot per day, so the only thing I have is a Day 9 save before the mummies come alive. I didn't save after that point because I knew by heart what I had to do.
Is someone able to help Dot? I really, really do not want to go forward without her.

Unfortunately I have no save games, either. Have been lurking in this thread since I have played the game so many times already.

I always keep a save for Wolfgang. Those mummies give me a heart attack every time.
#011 is after room 6, but still in room 7, you only need to put the snake rod in the door latch there
#012 is in the inner wheel.

BBP, she'll need also need the catalog file (GKSG.CAT), otherwise the game will not see the save games.
