What's your favourite food?
Yes, I know, somehow the topic always turns to food. Maybe I just always bring it up.
Although I don't believe in this "there can be only one" rule that some people have, try to keep it to a reasonable amount of specific items. That said...
What are the culinary indulgences you most adore? What absolutely ravishes your tastebuds and makes you swoon with enjoyment?
I love good, deli-style olives. Those spiced, giant green Sicilian olives are almost too good to be true. Perfectly, darkly, ripe Kalamata olives? Mmmmm.
I probably don't need to mention chocolate, since I'm sure that's a favourite of many people, but I will. Dark, smooth, unadulterated chocolate. Especially when it takes the form of a dark chocolate filled with pure chocolate ganache.
I'm sure I'll think of some more.

Chicken all the way .
When i was a teenager, my mom always prepared 2 complete chickens: 1 chicken leg for her, the other leg for my brother, the chest for my dad and the 2nd chicken... for me .

@ Krystal Burgers... dude... I so remember those... don't think they're in San Diego (or maybe even California) other than frozen... and that's not the same!
My fav would have to be: Spagetti (with meatball!)
But I am so picky... it has to be made JUST right.

How about licorice?Maiandra wrote:I'm sure I'll think of some more.
I don't particularly like it, but I know you do.
As for me... if I had to pick one favorite food, I think it'd be sushi. I know that's not real specific, but there are too many types to list.

Re: What's your favourite food?
Turkey with 18th century chestnut stuffing
Gnocchi in sage cream sauce
Ravioli with crab meat
Crême duchesse
Coq au vin
Chicken camembert with sesame seeds
Lightly grilled orange ruffy with white sauce
Prinzregententorte
The real German rum balls - there is no substitute. Nothing. Believe me. Bought rum balls? Forget them.
Marzipan - the Lübecker. The Rolls Royce of Marzipan.
Sachertorte
Schwarzwaldtorte
My mother's potato salad
Blini with caviar and smoked salmon
Virtually any good cheese
Olives - I agree. Black kalimara olives.
There's a fabulous dish with steak rolled up (stuffed with prosciutto and grated cheese) and cooked in red wine and olives.... mmmm.
I think I just... love food.

That's my problem too. *grin*Almirena wrote: There's a fabulous dish with steak rolled up (stuffed with prosciutto and grated cheese) and cooked in red wine and olives.... mmmm.

You don't by any chance have the recipe for the stuffed steak, do you?
I also love potatoes, roughly mashed with olive oil and Kalamata olives. That is SO good. Something else I can easily eat by itself.
I will also mention Baklava. It has to be made with the honey syrup, not just sugar. When I'm feeling ambitious I will make my own so I can use as much (good quality) honey as I want. I can blissfully devour large quantities of Baklava.
I'm also addicted to popcorn as a snack food. It has to be popped in a stovetop popper, though. Otherwise it's not the same.
As DPX mentioned, I have a weakness for licorice. Soft, black licorice, especially the kind made with molasses.

Re: What's your favourite food?
My favorite food is somewhat determined by my hunger
Like right now I could go for Cheeseburgers... yummy.
Yesterday it was boiled rice with chicken in curry sauce - and on top raw onion and peanuts.
