Snake scale am I forced to start over ?

This is my first true Seirra gaming experence. I've played Lucas Arts and Revolutionary studios and a bunch of other games. I forgot what it means to play a Sierra Adventure game. I only was using one save the entire run of it.

I just got my first snake scale in the fith day...and it so happens that I got it after the large snake nearly killed me.

And ...it also happens that I didn't get a snake scale from the large snake. And now, it seems that I'm screwed because I can't get matching scales, can I ? And the veil , I didn't search it for a scale, I already gave it back, accidentally. I didn't hold onto it for whatever reason I didn't even look at it really.

So, do I have to start over? It seems Sierra games are un-neccesarily difficult and I'll need multiple saves to get through it.

In GK1 you cannot really get stuck until level 10, and only then within level 10, and you can't get very far if you forgot that particular action.

There's no problem whatsoever about forgetting the original scale: you can still go out and get it. You'd need to do a thorough search of Lake Pontchartrain though.

Boy, do I feel silly. It just hit me. I replayed the entire game, just to realize that the scale is on the desk top after the snake attack.

Rest assured, we have ALL had those moments... and still do, even though we've played many of these Sierra games a zillion times.

That's the beauty of these games. Focus on the complex puzzles, you forget that some answers are right under your nose
