I'll definitely be purchasing this! As I like to say for such incredible things, This For the Epic Win of Doom!
You like manuals. You like manuals. You love them. You cannot resist manuals.
Your gameplay experience is meaningless without manuals.

Yeah, that's a great price. Even though I have them, I will probably grab this just to have digital versions.

I figured that this was coming when GOG emailed me for contact information for NRS.

Wow, that is a pretty nice offer. What a pity that I cannot buy anything online. I guess it's time to get some virtual bank, else I'll keep on missing great chances in the shops.

Why can't you buy anything online? If you don't have a credit card, I think GOG lets you use PayPal or similar services.esentia wrote:Wow, that is a pretty nice offer. Re: QFG finall on GOG
Huzzah! I've been playing QfG for donkey's years (ever since the 5.25" floppy days) - I think the first time I played QfG1 (the EGA version, of course), it came on a few 3.5" floppies and installed on DOS. I kept on playing the series through in order, persevered through the bugs (even error 52)... picked up QfG5 on the day that it came out (and did a little "It's mine, it's mine" dance to celebrate), and played through it for about 8 hours running... eek. Of course, in those days, I was young and stupid (whereas now, I'm a lot older and still-a-little-stupid-but-not-quite-as-stupid!)
I remember well the glory days of QfG. I wrote several fan-fiction stories (including one where I lead a drunken thief through all the lands of Glorianna, and one where Leisure Suit Larry suddenly becomes King of Silmaria (Tawm, are you interested by any chance? )), as well as numerous QfG short stories, top ten lists, song parodies, haikus, poems, and other miscellaneous hilarious nonsense. So yes, you could say I like QfG quite a bit.
So why am I mentioning all this? Because I'm glad that QfG isn't being forgotten, even now - and it may be that a new generation of gamers will get to enjoy it as much as I did.
Incidentally, does this new release mean that the bugs will be fixed? *crosses fingers*

Wow this is great news. This almost finishes up the major classic series that made Sierra what it was. All GOG needs is Leisure Suit Larry. I might get this at some point.

The bugs are already fixed. And have been for a long while.

Re: QFG finall on GOG
The question is with QfG5. I have addressed a few off the issues with 5, but one remains. The bug from damage from the Dragon's breath. There are a couple of problems introduced by the NRS patches that are best resolved by lower DOSBox cycles rather than the NRS patches. My installers do include the offending patch files, but zipped so they are not used. If the user wishes to use them, all they need to do is unzip them.
I am trying to get a promotion code to check them out to see if everything has been addressed. If I don't get it, I will not be buying yet another set of the games. I offered to help them, but I got no response. GOG's track record with the SCI games is... spotty.

It fixed my only issue (crash after Minos's suicide).

Quest for Glory 1-5 Pack is 60% off on GOG.com until Monday, October 8, 2012, as part of the "Activision Greats" weekend promo. This is the first time GOG is giving a discount on the Quest for Glory series, and I believe 60% is the deepest discount you can get at GOG. Other Sierra series, Gabriel Knight, King's Quest, Space Quest and Police Quest, are also 60% off.
