Yeah, they're coming up with a new WW show, only this time they're following in Smallville's footsteps and aiming to portray Diana before she became a hero.
They're calling it Amazon.
It definitely has the potential to work (although growing up on an island full of warrior women may present some writing challenges), but I have a feeling it'll become one big melodramatic snooze, just like Smallville.
At least they won't have to deal with costume problems since this'll be before she ever has to wear it. So the "pants vs no pants" debate isn't even an issue.

Re: New Wonder Woman TV show: Amazon
I haven't watched that much smallville, and the episodes i have seen are most likely from the very begining. I think that in smallville it was easier to make the superpowers just another of the issues this young teen had to deal with, just as roswell before it. I just have a hard time imagining how they can make this properly. Maybe it's because the premiss makes me think of Xena, which was fun enough to watch when I was a child, but then, it doesn't exactly take itself seriously. I'm just wondering how they can make this interesting without it getting either too silly or too boring/complicated from the begining. I know that most shows usually end up there eventually because they run out of idears, but this one they have to be very careful from the get go. On the other hand, if they do manage to get it somehow, it could be interesting enough.

Hmmmm... the article doesn't mention anything about an island full of warrior women (although I know exactly where you got this from!) Regardless, if they do it like that, then... am I the only one who thinks that they'll do it like that because the producers want this show to have a lot of titillation (a la Raquel Welch in One Million Years B.C.) and others?DeadPoolX wrote:Yeah, they're coming up with a new WW show, only this time they're following in Smallville's footsteps and aiming to portray Diana before she became a hero.

Well, hopefully they don't have total boobs running the show. Regardless, I'll definitely attempt to keep abreast of the situation and post more info as it comes available.Rath Darkblade wrote: am I the only one who thinks that they'll do it like that because the producers want this show to have a lot of titillation (a la Raquel Welch in One Million Years B.C.) and others?
