Two Truths, One Lie - Sierra Style.

Post by Tawmis »

So Collector mentioned trying to get another "forum game" going - so I thought of one, I always enjoyed. Used to do it on my personal forum - where you tell three things - one of them is a lie, the other two are truths. They don't even have to be related to one another (for example, one could be about King's Quest, one could be about Leisure Suit Larry, one could be about Roberta Williams) - but in this case, all three have to be about SOMETHING Sierra related (for now, we won't even limit it to just games).

So for example, I might post:

1. Leisure Suit Larry is a game that features the main character, Larry Laffer.
2. Rosella was the main character in King's Quest 5.
3. Sierra was originally located in California.

Now the lie would be #2 (although, some might argue that Passionate Patti was also a main character in LSL3 and LSL5, but whatever - clearly #2 is the right answer). So once you're approved by the original poster that you guessed the correct lie - then you would then post three "facts" (one being a lie). And so on and so on.

OK, I'll bite! ;)

1. Leisure Suit Larry features an arcade game.
2. Otto (in QfG1) plays with two different toys.
3. Quest for Glory V was released just after Christmas of 1998.

(Okay, I'm sure those will be easy...)

I believe - but, I must be honest, I'm definitely not sure - that the lie is number 3.

Andrea is correct. ;) QfGV was released just before Christmas 1998, not after. Your turn, Andrea!

OK! Here it is:

1. Gabriel is planning to turn St. George's balcony into a schmaltzy cafe but lacks the money to do so.
2. One of the supporting actors of The Beast Within appeared in an episode of The X-Files.
3. Other than the infamous black cat, in Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned there is also a ginger one.

Number 1. (Wish I could see what the survey says, though... :( )

I'll go with 2, if you count Madeline as cat.

Nope, it is indeed - there's no point in hiding it now - number three. I left it voluntarily vague, but of course I was referring to an actual ginger cat, and there isn't another real cat other than the really cute black one.

As for the other two, you can hear the line about the schmaltzy cafè by clicking on the balcony of the shop in GK1 and Kay E. Kuter (Werner Huber) appeared in 1995 in The Calusari (The X-Files 2x21).

Tawm... What happens now?

OK, here is another GK-related one!

1. An actor in The Beast Within later appeared in David Lynch's INLAND EMPIRE.
2. In St. Louis Cathedral there isn't a French flag.
3. The protagonist of The Voodoo Murders is called Blake Backlash.

1: In Leisure Suit Larry 6, you cannot sneak into the girl's locker room by getting Gary to the bar.
2: To finish Island of Dr Brain with full score, you'll need to solve 27 word searches: three per difficulty level per language.
3: In Shivers, you can inspect the ceiling of Professor Windlenot's bedroom.

I would guess the answer is 3, because I don't remember one being able to inspect the room from that angle.

No! I exploited this little-known look-up in the Where Do I Belong? quiz. You can look up and discover there's a huge tear in the ceiling.
