The "US Map of the Highest Paid Public Employees by State" is a sad commentary of out times.

Sigh... it certainly is. Only a handful of states don't pay sports coaches the highest salary. :(

OTOH, map 37 (where 2% of Australia's population lives) is pretty much common sense. :P

Wow. I have a sudden urge to visit Europe via google street view. I hadn't really thought about it before, but that's really, really cool.

The other maps are really interesting too. I notice the Scandiavian countries seem to be the highest for a number of things.

Those are awesome! (My favourites are the Chinese translations, Google street view, and Pangaea).

That's rather disturbing. I can't help but wonder if there were any humans... Because at some point humans must have thought that the water was safe to drink.

*shudders* I don't even want to think about who created that, and why.

The Juno spacecraft has just flown by Earth... some awe-inspiring pictures, a short interview with the ESA (European Space Agency), and a write-up are here. :)

NONE of those look real. Each one of them looks like a painting. Like the depth and perception seems off on almost ALL of them.

It's very hard to get the lighting right in such a place, I wonder how he got the quality he had. Must've been a large shutter speed.
It does seem unrealistic as literally everything on the picture is in focus. And that church picture, goodness, I'd have a hard time sleeping if I'd been there. Oh, and that picture with the fireplace and the shoes in front of the chair: there's a sign that says "welkom", welcome, on the fireplace, in Dutch.

Saw those a few months ago, not a fan. The guy has some better ones over at 500px.
