Quick question re: LSL (Reloaded)...

Post by Rath Darkblade »

So I thought I might give LSL (Reloaded) a try. After all, I haven't played it yet, nor even checked out the website. ;)

After having a quick look, and getting as far as here,, it asked me for my email address and password. So I'm just wondering what this is all about... I tried creating a new account, and it asked me for many more details about myself - my address, phone number etc.

Is all this necessary? What does Replay Games need all these details for? :| I hope you'll pardon me if these questions sound naive - I'm just not comfortable with giving out all these details online, without knowing what they'll be used for.

Also, what do the rest of you think of this game? Is it worth purchasing? ;) I've played all seven Larry games (LSL4 and the two Larry Lovage games not counted, obviously! :P), so I'm pretty familiar with what LSL is all about. ;) Thanks!

You can also buy it from STEAM if you don't want to purchase it from Replay's site.

So for the game itself - it's all right.

I do like how they changed some of the puzzles around. (For example, if you played LSL1EGA/VGA, you know about the remote control and using it with the tv - but there's something else you will have to do before you can properly use it). They added another woman in the game; that wasn't that big of a deal (and a bit of a disappointment - you can tell she was thrown in last minute, because it doesn't seem to flow with the rest of it). If you have played LSL1EGA/VGA, then you've pretty much played LSL:R. It has (much) nice graphics. New riddles. New woman. Changed some older riddles.

So if you can get it cheap; I'd recommend it. There's nothing in the game, I don't think, that's going to blow you out of the water.

The email and password they want is for your Replay Games account, not your actual email account. You need a Replay Games account to buy products off their website.

The reason they want you to fill in that information (i.e. address, phone number, etc) is because they're expecting you to use a credit card, so they need a billing address.

It's no different than purchasing a game on GOG or Steam. Actually, it's no different than buying anything online. Go somewhere like Amazon, for instance, and you'll need to make an account and enter in personal information.

As for the game itself, I agree with Tawmis. Overall, it's not a very good game -- the humor, animation, gameplay mechanics, and so forth all fall flat. While it's certainly not the worst game I've ever played, I'd never recommend anyone buy it at full price.

If you're deadset on getting it, wait for the upcoming holiday sales at GOG and Steam, both of which carry LSL:R.
