Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
Re: Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
I uploaded a DOSBox version for Hand of Fate. I think the sound quality is better than the ScummVM version.
I looked at three, but it has some required files packed in an archive with a ".001" extension, but I can't determine what format it is. I can unpack it with the original installer, but I can't really automate that. I don't really want to add these files to an NSIS installer as it would add about 10 MB to the installer.

How about a Sanitarium installer?

That's a game I own, but which I recall not being able to ever run. It sounds like a prime candidate for a compatibilifying installer.

Re: Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
I installed it, and I was able to play the first area, which is more than I could do before, so apparently it works. The only issue I had is that, even though I specified it should install from one CD drive (and it did), it ejected the tray of a different drive when it was time to swap discs.
Re: Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
That is odd. Is one of them a virtual drive?

Re: Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
Yes. I installed off my virtual G: drive, and it opened the tray on my physical D: drive.
Re: Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
I'll look into it, though I have never noticed such behavior. I often make images of CD games that I am working on an installer for if I need to repeatedly test it, especially if it is a multi CD game. Good excuse to use my new ripping tool.

Re: Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
This will take some time to work out.

Re: Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
It's not really a big problem. All it means for me is that I have to push the button on my drive when I'm done installing.
Re: Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
Should be fixed now to open the selected CD rather than the first.

Re: Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
I can confirm that the issue no longer happens on my system.

I like that "it will take some time to fix it" is done in less than like 24 hours.

Re: Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
I ended up asking for some information from the NSIS developers. I did not know how long it would take for them to respond.
