Would DOSBox be an alternative? Or is it a Windows-only Game/Version?

A Windows only that doesn't particularly like Win3x. I did make an experimental XP Mode patch to be used in conjunction with the installer, but did not pursue it as most people didn't bother to get Pro and XP Mode was only available for Pro and higher.

That is Mixed-up Mother Goose Deluxe. Curious that they handed it off to Coktel.

I have the impression translations were outsourced to Coktel on several occasions. Caesar 2 is another example where Coktel was used.

Just acquired this off ebay, box is in pristine condition, no marks, dents, scratches. Been trying to locate a copy this good for years. Seller said he had it on his shelf for 15 years, kept in like new condition.

Today arrived a shrink-wrapped, well preserved Donald Duck's Playground!
While the ScummVM Wiki states this:
"Donald Duck's Playground may never be supported. It uses the first v2 AGI engine AGI v2.01 which ScummVM does not support. 2.01 is more like agi V1 than V2."
I think I recall that I actually played it using ScummVM, Version 1.5.0 at least.

It says that, but it seems to work, anyway. The Booter version is the only one that seems to work right in DOSBox. There are a couple of versions floating around on the internet. They are fan ported from the Atari ST version and the other from the Amiga version. The Atari has no sound in DOSBox and the Amiga crashes if you pause the game.

Good luck trying to read the Tandy disk.

It has been a while as I have not been getting much, lately. What is missing from my collection is mostly the rare stuff that costs more than I am willing to spend, like the High Res Adventures or the origami boxes. Anyway, I have been looking for this for a while and managed to snag it for $35 with free shipping.

I was just fortunate enough (well, looking at the price tag I wonder if it is THAT fortunate...) to pick up this one. But I am wondering. The Disks in my Box say:

Ver#1.200 / INT#9.10.90

The Original Hero's Quest 1 that I own says

Ver#1.001 / INT#0.000.566

and the Official Remake that I own says

Ver#2.0 / INT#6.25.92

So, what did I get? The Original one? The Remake? Something in between?

Those are the versions that I have. The Hero's Quest is the 2nd version (1.001), which has the same interpreter version as the original. I am only aware of one version of the QfGEGA, but it was close to when QfG2 was released.

I was wondering why I wasn't receiving "update emails" each time someone posted something on this thread and I thought no-one was interested anymore in buying Sierra games.
Then I looked in and can see that people have indeed been purchasing items Great!

If no one was interested the prices would be falling, but they are not. Part of the problem for me is that I already have most of the affordable stuff and things like the Hi-Res adventures can go for thousands. Even the few missing SCI items like the GK1 origami box can go for more than I am willing to pay.

I think he hides everything he gets in his basement.

But yeah, several thousand for a Hi-Res is taking things too far.
I suppose if you're a really hard core collector and had nothing else to spend the money on, then its ok.

But I'm probably jsut a "mild" collector. I don't buy stuff because I'd rather wait for the few-and-far between good bargains.
