Re: Script party!
You did! I forgot to add it! It's there now, with the corrected spelling of your name. (Wasn't sure if you wanted your last name or not included - or if you want ANY additional information, explaining what they are, how you do it, whatever you want to add to that page! Even notes for each one - if you want! Tell me and I will add it!)BBP wrote:Dear, dear, dear Tawm... that's not how you spell my name...

Just checked out KQ4. Unfortunately, like with Colonel's Bequest, the scripts are not readable. I can read the text, but not what command you'd have to enter to get it.

Re: Script party!
That has to do with the tools we have available for dealing with AGI and SCI games. I don't believe there's a decompiler available for SCI. On the other hand, if you had the AGI version of KQ4, you would be able to deal with it in the same way as KQ1-3.

Re: Script party!
I could do it but it'd take a person who knows KQ4 well, and I'm too scared of the troll cave.

Re: Script party!
Biggest laugh today: "You attempt, and fail, to snail the coffin shut." Should've played the text version before the voiced, I guess.

Re: Script party!
Snail the coffin shut? Is it "slam"?
By the way, just curious - is it possible to play both voice and text at the same time, like lots of other "voiced" games?

Ingame, it's "snail". Can you guess which game I'm working on now? It's a comedy where you have snails as inventory item.
Freddy Pharkas, Frontier Pharmacist.
No Rath, on some of the games that were released both voiced and unvoiced, you can't opt to have text: this goes for KQ5 and Freddy Pharkas. On Laura Bow 2, KQ6 and SQ4 you can opt to play with text instead of voice, but not both. On Freddy that was annoying since I could not make out what the narrator was saying with that odd accent. On LB2 it was actually a plus since all the voice acting was done by the Sierra staff, and KQ5, well...

You try to play "Which glass is hiding the hemorrhoidal ointment," but since you only have one glass, and it's clear, there's not much challenge.

Re: Script party!
I really appreciate how many of the useless inventory interactions have unique messages in that game (though only in text, not speech, I believe).
Re: Script party!
I believe you are right about many of the descriptions that got dropped for the MPC version. The CD is close to the size limit, so that could have been one of the reasons that a lot if it was not recorded or at least not added.adeyke wrote:I really appreciate how many of the useless inventory interactions have unique messages in that game (though only in text, not speech, I believe).
