Earthsiege battlesets?

I have downloaded the free cdrom of MT: ES and started playing. I've noticed that among the options is "load battlesets". According to a manual, the battlesets see to be custom scenarios that would be released as expansions to the game.

Other than i have found some gameplay youtube videos of such battlesets, I am not sure where and how or how many such battlesets had been released. Where they freely available or were sold as game expansions? can we find these anywhere online? How many had been released?
