At the moment I'm running Shivers II on my Win 98 computer. I'd started it to see if I could get the menu lines and the Explore mode on a period computer.
I haven't heard any menu lines yet, but the gameplay is pretty buggy so far. For some reason I can't put chewing gum on the monitors from the game I loaded. Maybe the save file got corrupted, since the TV in the motel does have gum.
Not to mention I got tossed out.
Was the game particularly buggy in the day?
And the other question:
Why on earth is the body of the female hiker in the grocery fridge?

I didn't have this game before the XP era, so I cannot say how it behaved on its target platform.

I'm out of form with my Win 98 troubleshooting I guess... Apparently the game doesn't work well with the one other game I play on it, Order Out Of Chaos. That's a 1994 puzzle game that's so simple yet effective I wonder why I haven't found any clone, any alternative packages online... It's very chilling, puzzle to the music of Chopin, so I liked to play it before Shivers II.
The problem with the chewing gum was easily solved. The icons are so tiny that I mistook the money for the gum.
That just leaves a few gripes and questions with the game: why on earth is the body of the hiker in the supermarket fridge, and how did she decompose so fast?
