Space Quest 3 3D

In Space No One Can Hear You Clean, er, Scream. But if you post in this forum about Space Quest - someone's sure to hear you. I think. Try it, anyway!

Awesome work!
He also did a Rise of the Dragon 3D demo:

And I thought that that room was depressing in the original game.

I foresee many, many, many player deaths due to the fact that in the 3D version, you don't have 360 vision (so you can't see what's coming behind you) - so, for instance, you won't know how close the Ah-nold bot is to you, when he chases you.

It looks very cool, but I wonder what your chances of survival are, when every step you make causes loud noises and when your body is as strong as a cheese straw. :P

I also wonder why Roger looks so young. In the video, he looks almost pre-pubescent. *insert "raises eyebrow" emoticon here*

I was about to download the tech demos (for both SQ3 and ROTD), but the download speed was atrocious. We're talking a good half hour to download something as small as 350 MB.

I know that's not my connection since it's working fast everywhere else (and I just tested it to be sure), so I'll have to come back and do this some other time.

That won't be a problem if you can control the camera separately, like you can in most well-developed third-person 3D titles.

I don't think there are any plans to remake the whole games. It's just about that particular scene.

I uploaded them to the LarryLaffer site...

They're both there available for download.

Thanks! My download speed there is significantly better. :)

I had issues downloading from his (her?) site as well. So, since we both did - I just figured I'd upload them onto LarryLaffer.

So.... what is it like, then? ;) Is it just that scene, or...? What's the verdict? ;)

You can walk around a small limited area. It's a small download, and still pretty amazing what he did. (I have only checked out the SQ3 demo). If you're interested, I'd recommend downloading them from my Larry Laffer site, for faster, more stable speeds.

It's just a 3D art project, not a game, so don't get any false expectations. For what it is, I find it very cool.
