Yikes. Nat ones are never good news. Firing a crossbow into his own foot? OW! :? That's one great way to break your own foot.

I was part of a group once that needed an extra player for a night or two, so we advertised for one. The one we got was a munchkin. :( His character gloried in the name of Stan the Indestructible because he had insanely magical armour that protected him from physical damage, magical damage, and poison. He figured - what does it matter that I'm using a rusty dagger that only does 3 damage, tops, if no-one can hurt me! Not surprisingly, the rest of us (especially the DM) hated him.

After a couple of hours, the DM finally had enough. Stan was standing at the bottom of a mountain, looking up at the evil wizard on top. With many a mwa-ha-ha and a twirling of moustaches, the evil wizard pressed the plunger on his magical equivalent of TNT (home-brew, don't ask), and collapsed the mountain on top of Stan. In this home-brew, 0 is still barely conscious and -10 is still dead. So Stan poked his head out from under the rubble, saying "I have -9 HPs! I'm still alive!" :D

...and then, as a final act of evilness, the falling evil wizard threw an enraged tomcat at Stan, which clawed his face for damage of 2 HP.

Scratch one munchkin!

We had a regular playing in a D&D campaign years ago, who did that. Built his character for maximum damage/to hit ratio. Back in the days of 2nd Edition, there were kits you could add to a class. So said person made an Elf Blade Singer. So back then, Elves had +1 with longswords (and bows). As a blade singer, it was an additional like +2 or +3. And of course, the first magic +1 longsword we find, he demands to take. I know I mentioned it before, somewhere (maybe even in this thread?) about having the lack of artist abilities - and using Kenzer's "Knights of the Dinner Table" panels to make my own - but in there, I think it mentions said player. We had another player, who did the same thing - for every game - whether it was Neverwinter Nights, MechWarriors, or D&D (I know his is in there - as the one with the bracers) - this is the last one (I think), but it links all the previous ones: http://neverendingnights.com/archives/1014

It's a literal "documentation" of how our D&D games were week to week...

My own drawings, based on our D&D games back then can be found on the Neverending Nights' facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pg/Neverending ... 3792121866

Really? That's odd? It doesn't require to be logged in since the album is public...

I have been drawing the "face" those characters are based off for a long time. I learned from Farside, which was one of the first comics I tried to mimic (because the art was pretty simple). Back in High School, I used to do similar art, that I called "The Wallgroup" based on myself and my high school friends, because we literally claimed a wall in the hallway as ours, and hung out there during breaks and lunch, and it's where we'd meet before and after school (I should dig up the mug I gave everyone for Christmas way back when, with that art on it). It evolved into this character I draw of myself all the time (ironically, just drew it today on someone's card for their 15th anniversary working at my job).

I should explain some of the photos... because out of context they sort of lose their meaning... so continuing...

In this one, the druid (or wizard?) sent their familiar, a cat, to try and listen to the bad guy... For some reason I can't remember, I drew the bag guy as Cartman from Southpark

This is the generic joke, Rainyn was played by Paul... and the joke of "coming out of the closet"....

During one of our adventures we met Mind Flayers, and... it didn't go well...

This one is about our friend Jeremy, who played a Paladin. He was very reclusive. Never went out on dates or anything. Went on a dating site and finally got a date. So we played once without him... The other character was a swashbuckler, played by Chad. The Swashbuckler in the game is a "Lady's Man"...

Generic pun - We found evidence of Lizard people (and in San Diego, as I am sure as other places that touch borders with Mexico), there's a sign about beware of people running across the freeway that resembles this (but has a whole family)...

Generic pun - during a Yuan-ti encounter we find a pyramid, which I drew to look like a 4 sided dice (D4)...

Generic pun - he wanted to find a Roc (which is a giant eagle like creature; think The Hobbit)...

Generic pun - my wife and I worked at a sunglass company called Dragon; and it turns out the gem my wife's character needed was rumored to be guarded by a dragon...
https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/ ... e=5ADEE52A

Generic pun - we needed to start a revolution. There's a place in Mexico called "Revolution" (think tons of tequila and drunk people)...

Generic pun - spoofing Playboy...

Found a magical helmet...?

When we changed from 2nd to 3rd Edition, and suddenly some skills couldn't be done...
https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/ ... e=5B220DE8

Paul (our DM) had a HORRIBLE knack for giving characters names that sounded too much like something else...
This one was a Dwarf he named "Gaydar" (so we joked "He has a GAY raDAR?")

This has to do with one of those characters, who we tricked into taking a cursed chest...
https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/ ... e=5AE0EB00

Christi played our Cleric; a Cleric of the God, Eth (who was a forgotten God)... she had a stone in her palm that was supposedly connected to the god, if I remember correctly... and the joke is that the character is Paul's character, Rainyn (stuck on the Palm Pilot where Paul used to keep his character)...
https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/ ... e=5B242165

A nod to EverQuest, an MMO we all used to play...

Paul hated the Avenger, Hawkeye...

One of our haunted adventures... actually tried to draw something creepy...
https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/ ... e=5AE05F8D

Our friend Adam used to strike a pose, where we all called him, "Big Gay Adam" (and the wife even made a calendar, because she had enough photos of him in said pose). This is the pose when he joined our campaign with his character...

What a cute idea this is: knighty knight cat ;)

Apparently quite a lot of people have had the idea to draw cats in D&D style. here are some more. :D

 The "pie-rat" skewering a cherry on his tiny cutlass, and using a fork as the mast for his sail. ;) Very cute!

By the way, even though I can reply to posts, suddenly I can't start a thread of my own. :? Ever time I try to start one, I get this:
General Error

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.
That's not the first time I've seen this, either. :( What's going on?

Probably something on the host side (our provider that we use - Arvixe).
