Recently had a chance to play Subnautica. It's like No Man's Sky except underwater on an all-ocean alien planet and way more interesting. My dad played through it and loved it. He didn't want to play in survival mode though (having to eat/drink to survive). I'm tackling it. Amazing visuals. Truly immersive game. It even supports VR if you got one of those (I don't).

Ok. Because it looked like it played like PoE, which had me interested, then it was like, "Oh, and build your own empire too" and had something that looked like it was also part SIM like.

That would explain the similarity. I was going to buy Pathfinder, until I saw that SIMS like portion of the game, and wondered if it's really that.

I don't mind building a fort, I just don't want to micromanage my fort.

Hmm. Am I the only one who found Warcraft III - well - comical? I always got a good laugh out of the non-undead Arthas jumping across the landscape. It was like he had hidden springs in his shoes. "The Light -" *boiiiiing* "is my strength!" *boiiiiing*

Jennifer Hale (Katrina from QFG4) voices Sophie Neveu. The accent she uses is incredibly similar to the one she adopted for Katrina, so that's kind of fun to hear.

She's absolutely everywhere. Guinness Book of World Records holder for most prolific video game voice actress.

I recently finished another game she was involved in, Catwoman, based on the Halle Berry film. She fooled many reviewers into thinking Berry herself did the voice, when in fact it was Hale.

Like the film, the game got bad reviews, but I enjoyed it for what it was. After I mastered the admittedly tricky controls, I had a lot of fun with it.

Mass Effect, Star Wars, LOTR, possibly every superhero game ever... Jen's one of those voices you don't realize you're hearing all the time until you look her up.

I've been revisiting "Riven" lately. It's been my baby-in-my-lap game these past few weeks and I really enjoy it more now that I'm older. I didn't realize how much thought was put into the world's design since almost nothing in this game exists without some kind of practical purpose - and you usually don't see that purpose until you turn around and retrace your steps.

Love Riven. It's such a "hyperlinked" puzzle design approach. Everything is connected to everything. And once you get all your pages of notes and bizarre drawings together and examine it it all comes together. Beautiful. Masterpiece.

Started playing The Bards Tale IV, which was a kickstarter. I loved The Bard's Tale I, II and III.

I wish I could say favorable things about Bards Tale IV.

First, it required putting the game graphics to the lowest setting possible.

So everything looks pretty bland.

Attempting to up it ever so slightly causes a metric ton of lag.

The battle system is... different. That probably just needs me to adjust to it.

The character customization is utterly minimal. Which is a disappointment when it comes to RPG games - especially what you see these days for character customization.

Essentially "character" customization is picking your class, race, and location the race hails from which gives you pre-populated armor and looks that you can not change.

Yeah, so - that didn't last long - this was the same review I put on GoG.

Just finished King's Quest VII. Flew through that, unlike King's Quest VI which took me way too long. Though both are about 6 hours of game play. I remembered most of King's Quest VII's puzzles (and also with King's Quest VI, I was intentionally doing the long play version, which honestly only adds like 10 minutes more). I won't be doing Mask of Eternity for my Let's Play Sierra Games Channel, unless I am bored, and have run out of Sierra games to play, and still doing this.

Next in line is Leisure Suit Larry, because it's pretty straight forward, and other than probably Leisure Suit Larry VII, have most committed to memory. Will probably do Police Quest after that, then Gabriel Knight. Then Quest for Glory. Then all the one/two offs.

Of course, at the pace I typically play these, I might not even be alive that long to do all of this!

In the meantime, I bought the Army Men series from GoG, thanks to their sale. And just installed Army Men I, but I need a way to adjust the mouse sensitivity.
