This gets my vote. I am hoping to save Gold Rush for you, as the last one, because of the three possibilities you can go. It's a longer game, so I am thinking, save it for last so that there's no pressure of other games to play.

I have 4 votes for Willy Beamish and 1 for Heart of China. I'm not terribly familiar with this one so we'll see how it goes. GOG provided both the floppy and CD versions of the game. I think I will give the floppy version a try first.

I know. I thought I would start with the floppy version since I did the same thing with Freddy Pharkas. In that case it was because some of the text was not recorded as speech. I'm assuming something similar is done with Willy Beamish. Regardless, I had to pick one or the other and starting off with the text version seems more "right" to me for some reason.

Well since you complained about Willy Beamish and awkward controls... I say Heart of China. I remember loving Heart of China when it first came out - but I think it's because it reminded me of Tales of the Gold Monkey TV show.

I tried playing it again not too long ago - and gave up pretty quick because of the wonky controls.

And besides, I wanted to save GOLD RUSH last for you, since it's got those three alternative paths you can take. So it's going to take awhile if you're going to do all three paths.
